अमीर ख़ुसरो उन प्रतिभाशाली हस्तियों में से एक थे जो सदीयों बाद कभी जन्म लेती हैं। ख़ुसरो ने तुर्की मूल के होने के बावजूद बहुजातीय और बहुभाषीय हिन्दोस्तान को एक एकता की शक्ल देने में अद्वितीय भूमिका निभाई। उनका व्यक्तित्व अपने आप में बहुआयामी था। वो एक समय में एक साथ शायर, चिंतक, सिपाही, सूफ़ी, अमीर और दरवेश थे। उन्होंने एक तरफ़ बादशाहों के क़सीदे लिखे तो दूसरी तरफ़ अपनी शीरीं-बयानी से अवाम का दिल भी मोह लिया। अमीर ख़ुसरो उन लोगों में से थे जिनको क़ुदरत सिर्फ़ मुहब्बत के लिए पैदा करती है। उनको हर शख़्स और हर चीज़ से मुहब्बत थी और सबसे ज़्यादा मुहब्बत हिन्दोस्तान से थी जिसकी तारीफ़ करते हुए उनकी ज़बान नहीं थकती। वो हिन्दोस्तान को दुनिया की जन्नत कहा करते थे। हिन्दोस्तान की हवाओं का नग़मा उनको मस्त और इसकी मिट्टी की महक उनको बेख़ुद कर देती थी। जब और जहां मौक़ा मिला उन्होंने हिन्दोस्तान और इसके बाशिंदों की जिस तरह प्रशंसा की हैं इसकी कहीं दूसरी जगह मिसाल नहीं मिलती। पीढ़ी दर पीढ़ी सदियों से हिन्दोस्तान में रहने वाला भी जब हिन्दोस्तान के बारे में उनके बयान पढ़ता है तो उसे महसूस होता है कि हिन्दोस्तान के वास्तविक सौंदर्य से पहली बार उसका सामना हो रहा है।
अमीर ख़ुसरो का असल नाम अबुलहसन यमीन उद्दीन था। वो 1253 ई. में एटा ज़िला के क़स्बा पटियाली में पैदा हुए। उनके वालिद अमीर सैफ़ उद्दीन महमूद, चंगेज़ी फ़साद के दौरान ताजकिस्तान और उज़बेकिस्तान की सरहद पर स्थित मुक़ाम कश(मौजूदा शहर सब्ज़) से हिज्रत कर के हिन्दोस्तान आए और एक हिन्दुस्तानी अमीर इमादा-उल-मुल्क की बेटी से शादी कर ली। ख़ुसरो उनकी तीसरी औलाद थे। जब ख़ुसरो ने होश सँभाला तो उनके वालिद ने उनको ख़ुशनवीसी(सुलेख) की मश्क़ के लिए अपने वक़्त के मशहूर ख़त्तात(सुलेखक) साद उल्लाह के हवाले कर दिया लेकिन ख़ुसरो को पढ़ने से ज़्यादा शे’र कहने का शौक़ था, वो तख्तियों पर अपने शे’र लिखा करते थे। शुरू में ख़ुसरो “सुलतानी” तख़ल्लुस करते थे, बाद में ख़ुसरो तख़ल्लुस इख़्तियार किया। ख़ुसरो जब जवानी की उम्र को पहुंचे तो ग़ियासुद्दीन बलबन मुल्क का बादशाह था और उसका भतीजा किशलो ख़ां उर्फ़ मलिक छज्जू अमीरों में शामिल था। वो अपनी बख्शिश व उदारता के लिए मशहूर और अपने वक़्त का हातिम कहलाता था। उसने ख़ुसरो की शायरी से प्रभावित हो कर अपने दरबारियों में शामिल कर लिया। इत्तफ़ाक़ से एक दिन बलबन का बेटा ब़गरा ख़ान, जो उस वक़्त समाना का हाकिम था, महफ़िल में मौजूद था। उसने ख़ुसर का कलाम सुना तो इतना ख़ुश हुआ कि एक किश्ती भर रक़म उनको इनाम में दे दी। ये बात किशलो ख़ान को नागवार गुज़री और वो ख़ुसरो से नाराज़ रहने लगा। आख़िर ख़ुसरो ब़गरा ख़ान के पास ही चले गए जिसने उनकी बड़ा मान-सम्मान किया, बाद में जब ब़गरा ख़ान को बंगाल का हाकिम बनाया गया तो ख़ुसरो भी उसके साथ गए। लेकिन कुछ अर्से बाद अपनी माँ और दिल्ली की याद ने उन्हें सताया तो वो दिल्ली वापस आ गए। दिल्ली आ कर वह बलबन के बड़े बेटे मलिक मुहम्मद ख़ान के मुसाहिब बन गए। मलिक ख़ान को जब मुल्तान का हाकिम बनाया गया तो ख़ुसरो भी उसके साथ गए। कुछ दिनों बाद तैमूर का हमला हुआ। मलिक ख़ान लड़ते हुए मारा गया और तातारी ख़ुसरो को क़ैदी बना कर अपने साथ ले गए। दो बरस बाद ख़ुसरो को तातारियों के चंगुल से रिहाई मिली। इस अर्से में उन्होंने मलिक ख़ान और जंग में शहीद होने वालों के दर्दनाक मरसिये कहे। जब ख़ुसरो ने बलबन के दरबार में ये मरसिये पढ़े तो वो इतना रोया कि उसे बुख़ार हो गया और उसी हालत में कुछ दिन बाद उसकी मौत हो गई। बलबन की मौत के बाद ख़ुसरो उमराए शाही में से एक ख़ां जहां के दरबार से सम्बद्ध हुए और जब उसे अवध का हाकिम बनाया गया तो उसके साथ गए। ख़ुसरो दो बरस अवध में रहने के बाद दिल्ली वापस आ गए। ख़ुसरो ने दिल्ली के ग्यारह बादशाहों की हुकूमत देखी और बादशाहों या उनके अमीरों से सम्बद्ध रहे। सभी ने उनको नवाज़ा यहां तक कि एक मौक़े पर उन्हें हाथी के वज़न के बराबर सिक्कों में तौला गया और ये रक़म उनको इनाम में दी गई। ख़ुसरो निहायत पुरगो शायर थे। अक्सर तज़किरा लिखनेवालों ने लिखा है कि उनकी शे’रों की तादाद तीन लाख से ज़्यादा और चार लाख से कम है। ओहदी ने लिखा है कि ख़ुसरो का जितना कलाम फ़ारसी में है उतना ही ब्रजभाषा में भी है लेकिन उनके इस दावे की सत्यापन इसलिए असम्भव है कि ख़ुसरो का संपादित कलाम ब्रजभाषा में नहीं मिलता। उनका जो भी हिन्दी कलाम है वो सीना ब सीना स्थानान्तरित होते हुए हम तक पहुंचा है। ख़ुसरो से पहले हिन्दी शायरी का कोई नमूना नहीं मिलता। ख़ुसरो ने फ़ारसी के साथ हिन्दी को मिला कर शायरी के ऐसे दिलकश नमूने पेश किए हैं जिनकी कोई मिसाल नहीं। ख़ुसरो दरबारों में दरबारी शायर थे लेकिन दरबार से बाहर वो पूरी तरह अवाम के शायर थे। ज़िंदा दिली और ख़ुशमिज़ाजी उनमें कूट कट् कर भरी थी, तसव्वुफ़ ने उनको ऐसी निगाह दी थी कि उन्हें ख़ुदा की बनाई हुई हर मख़लूक़ में हुस्न ही हुस्न नज़र आता था। हिन्दी और फ़ारसी के मिश्रण से कही गई उनकी ग़ज़लें अजीब रंग पेश करती हैं, शायद ही कोई हो जिसने उनकी ग़ज़ल

कि ताब-ए-हिज्राँ नदारम ऐ जां ना लेहू काहे लगाए छतियां”
न सुनी हो और इसके पुरसोज़ मगर परम आनंद के लुत्फ़ से वंचित रह गया हो।
शायर होने के साथ साथ ख़ुसरो एक बड़े संगीतज्ञ भी थे। सितार और तबला की ईजाद का श्रेय उनको है। इसके इलावा उन्होंने हिन्दुस्तानी और फ़ारसी रागों के संयोजन से नए राग ईजाद किए। राग दर्पण के मुताबिक़ इन नए रागों में साज़ गरी, बाख़रज़, उश्शाक, सर पर्दा, फ़िरोदस्त, मुवाफ़िक़ वग़ैरा शामिल हैं।

When Hindus and Sikhs recite the words of HZ Amir Khusro and HZ Nizamuddin Auliya, I don't feel the presence of Allah. When Muslims do it I feel Allah's presence. The energy is different.
I'm 17.. although I have no knowledge to judge them...but it was such a pleasure listening to these guys... their voice, their coordination, their energy everything was just amazing...HATS OFF to these guys 🙌❤️ and also thank you JASHN-E-REKHTA for such a MASTERPIECE ❤

I used to be very fond of reading and reciting Khusrau's verses in my college days. The memories coming flooding in. This programme is very beautiful. It's a good attempt to keep the art of dastangoi, dohe, qaul tarana and qawwali. Great job. Keep it up.

I don't think I have ever watched this kind of indescribable performance and I am speechless and totally dumbfounded. This is heart of original India,Performers, audience and organizers.
I have no words to express my gratitude for this absolutely brilliant ensemble and this performance. Riveting from start to finish and singing the most important songs for the times we live in. Too bad their names have not been included in the above information, Ajitesh Gupta, seated front left is a well known actor. A huge round of applause and much love!

One of the best musical performances seen by me in my life. Not only were the performers perfect but even the audience. It reflects the greatness of Hindustan, a country flourishing in Secularism compared to Pakistan that is doomed to religious bigotry and hatred.
It is soul of Indian culture, I'm surprised by this heart touching performance

Such an ethereal rendition.. Was awestruck by the excellent performance which had the power to transcend beyond all boundaries….when the youth of our country are bound by this spirit.. then war, violence and aggressive forces have no say whatsoever.. this answers the question which they spilled to the audience.. when one has quest for love and all the binding forces, like Hazrath Khusro,Nizamuddin Auliya, all the saints and patrons of this great country did then where is the time and space for violence and hatred.. kudos to the super talented breed of the youth brigade for putting forward such a heart wrenching performance.. perhaps the best performance of Rekhta so far.. I just request them to pick up such chapters from each religion and spread them among our rich audience.. किस्सागोई के इस हरफ़नमौला प्रदर्शन पर आप सभी को कोटिशः साधुवाद व आभार ।

Once in lifetime I visited Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah in year 2022. As I visit every historical place so minutly but due to some time scarcity I just ingnored Amir Khusro Mazaar and visited directly Nizamuddin sahab mazaar. After listening this I am very disappointing that I missed that vibe but at the same time I am feeling my presence at Amir Khusro Mazaar while singling SAIYYAN. Feeling goosebums and flying in the spritual world.

Uff ufff uffffff I definitely had judged, compared you with others, had assumed you were less than the other 'diggaj' people, but the experience which I had got till now, it's amazing. Especially when all of you sing together, ohhhhhh it's amazing and unexplainable. I've seen till the Man tu shudam song, uske baad I'll update the review Edit: Okay, this entire experience was just magical. Majestic. Surreal. The entire journey you guys took us through, it was all liked and loved by me. Not sure how to appreciate you guys more than this lol
