15 Years ago, I came to visit California on a job interview. After meeting with the new boss, I drove to the beach and sat in my rental car, wondering if I should move out west. Something told me to turn on the radio. When I did the first song that came on was "Heads Carolina, Tails California." I knew at that moment I should move, and I've loved every minute of my life in Los Angeles. Jo Dee sealed the deal for me. :)

Jo Dee was doing a show at Coytes in Louisville Ky and my sister and I had lost our parents in a horrible situation. We went to see her because her music touched us so very much. Our Momma loved it. After the show we actually got to meet Jo Dee and set and talk with her. Absolutely sweetest and very talented lady❤️ I listen to her music ALOT still to this day🎵🎼🎵
27 years ago in 1995 when this song was a hit, a friend and I were in training in Oklahoma City. At the end of of one day, when we were both tired and discouraged, we found ourselves at an intersection of Interstate 40. Sweet Jo Dee comes on the radio. My buddy kept a large amount of change in his cup holder. He reached down and picked up a quarter and smiled at me. I smiled back and said “flip it!”. He was from South Carolina. I was from California. Life just throws moments at you like that.

I'm going to discover North Carolina for the first time this weekend. I'm very much looking forward to it! From what I've seen, Raleigh looks like a pretty cool place!
My British girlfriend played this song for me in my car and suggested we drive somewhere. No map, no plans, no nothing. A weekend we spend somewhere the wind takes us. We drove 600km until we decided to stop and spend the day there. It was probably the best fun I've ever had traveling somewhere. I like a bit of country music, but after this, I looked up a lot of country and loved it. We still do this today, 2 years later... Every weekend we set out somewhere, depending on how much time we got and at the very least, we eat out somewhere we've never been before. As someone who likes to plan things and make sure they go according to plan, doing the exact opposite with my girlfriend has been fantastic. Sure, we've been at sucky restaurants and stuff, but that's life. Ups and downs, you just gotta ride the waves.

I asked if I could listen to this, and I cranked it up! I caught him nodding to it...he said he actually liked it...we were in the exact mood of that song that day! We drove for hours... It became an inside joke...when we were going out he would ask where I wanted to go, and I'd tell him to "flip a coin" and he knew exactly what it meant! NC born & raised.. Glad u made it!
seen Jo Dee and Josh Turner in concert a few years ago, they both put on a super show. everyone says that was country (and it is super good) if you love that music you gotta support it people, if you buy it and ask for it they will make it.. trouble is people are like sheep they follow the new stuff just the same.
Absolutely love this song
