To get your boom lift working again when you drive on a hill that exceeds the manufacturers slope rating, lower the boom all the way and make sure to retract the boom so that everything is in the stowed position. This should re-enable drive function. You may also need to press in the E-stop and pull it back out to re-set. Hope this was helpful. Let us know if you need anything else.

Hi, thanks for watching our video, this is a good question. The short answer is no, this video should not be used for safety training. The familiarization videos on our channel are for reference only and do not take the place of the OSHA mandated comprehensive operator training program which includes classroom as well as hands on, in person familiarization of the specific make and model aerial lift to be operated. Contact us to schedule aerial lift operator classes.

Thanks for reaching out to us. This is a question that requires a complex answer. The following information is directly from the JLG operator’s manual for the E450AJ boom lift as well as additional information regarding required rescue training all operators must go through. From the JLG operator's manual: 5.5 MANUAL DESCENT SYSTEM The manual descent system is used, in the event of total power failure, to lower the upper and lower booms using gravity. To operate the manual descent system, proceed as follows: Machines prior to S/N 0300062850 and from S/N 0300127572 to Present: 1. Locate manual descent knob on main valve and turn CW (clockwise). Install handle into manual descent pump and lower the Mid and Lower Booms by pumping the handle until they are completely lowered. 2. Turn manual descent knob CCW (counterclockwise) and lower the Upper (or main) Boom by pumping the handle until it is completely lowered. Return manual descent knob to center position and stow handle in bracket provided. S/N 0300062850 to S/N 0300127572: 1. Locate manual descent knob on main valve and turn CCW (counterclockwise). Install handle into manual descent pump and lower the Mid and Lower Booms by pumping the handle until they are completely lowered. 2. Turn manual descent knob CW (clockwise) and lower the Upper (or main) Boom by pumping the handle until itis completely lowered. Return manual descent knob to center position and stow handle in bracket provided. Additional rescue plan/training info: The employer (User) must develop a written Rescue Plan that will be carried out in the case of machine breakdown, platform entanglement or fall from platform. The plan must be put in writing and become part of the company's training manual. All occupants in the platform must receive training that explains the procedures to follow if they fall and await rescue or witness another worker's fall. The plan must limit the time that a properly restrained worker hangs suspended in the air. Rescue plans can include the following: - Self- rescue by the person involved, - Assisted rescue by others in the work area, or - Technical rescue by emergency services.
