You're stupid. The MauMau people who faced the worst wrath of the white colonists are the ones who were detained in the 1950s during the state of the emergency. That was a time when the many detention camps were so concentrated and the conditions were extremely cruel.

They spoke English. The MauMaus who were detained in the 1950s were very young people who were either in school or those who had just finished primary and secondary school. That's why he talked of young men going to the forest. The earlier MauMau of the 1930s and 1940s were illiterate.
