JJJJound x Adidas Samba (Made in Germany) "White": Review & On-Feet
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
JJJJound released their elevated take on the Adidas Samba late last month - but it wasn't without controversy. Advertised as a "Made in Germany" shoe, it came to light that the pairs were actually largely manufactured in Vietnam, with only the finishing touches actually done in the European country instead. So check out my review as I dive into the details and give you all an in-depth look at this pair to determine whether or not the quality is up to par and worthy of the price point!

If the majority of shoe was already made in Vietnam, they should've just finished it in Vietnam as well. We would save shipping and import costs and the labor costs. It would've been a $160-$180 for the exact same shoe. And this is coming from a JJJJound fanboy

Bist du dumm ? Und wir sind denn arbeitslos oder wie ? Auch fürs zusammenfügen braucht man Menschen. Der Preis ist doch egal. Wir müssen auch mal an unsere Menschen denken.
Hell yeah, couldn't wait to see your review on these. Great video as always Sean!

These are sublime....understated elegance
Happy I copped! 🔥regardless of the $250 price tag 🏷️ or where the shoes were made that didn’t change my mind because I really wanted them 😊
Great stuff as always Sean. Running out of room eh, already I can see a third wall of sneakers building up.

These are beautiful.
Picked this pair up for retails after how much I liked the Jjjjound pine green gore Tex 2002Rs. Really liking how they feel and look forward to wearing them. They are actually my first pair of sambas, wonder how common that is 😅
MADE IN VIETNAM. ASSEMBLED IN GERMANY.
never heard of JJJOund, but this is my favorite looking samba. been wearing them for 30 years, really wish adidas made a lot more of them!
You doing an early review on the military blue 4s?
Great review Sean! Where are your pants from please? I really like them! :)

Kind of an unpopular opinion but I much prefer these over the Clark’s 8th Street Fieg joints, just off of the sole difference (and maintenance) alone. Waiting for mine to arrive. They’re probably going to be murder on my feet like a normal GR Samba but that quality looks bananas. Dope review, as always.

Made in Vietnam but assembled in Germany as you said at least a part of them . Still kinda of shady though for the unsuspected consumer imo
Hello sean, what do you think about samba decon ?
Had to get a second pair .. they look sweet 😊
classic classy look
The True Greatest silhouette of all time! since 1949! one of the greatest collab of all time!
ngl that sockliner makes the sneaker, i don't know why, but it does

🤝🤝🤝
how do they compared in quality vs the samba decon?
They have promoted and PRICED the shoe as fully made in Germany. The fact they have ripped off the Vietnam tag says it all. The shoe looks great, there was no reason to treat the costumer like that.
Never had a samba, don’t think I will. But if I did these would be the ones I’d get
Nice, been waiting for this one. Took a massive L on Confirmed that day, but in some ways kind of glad considering it isn't truly Made in Germany. Somehow, I also expected Italian quality leather. It does look premium though. I think it would've looked nicer with a lighter brown gum outsole, similar the Pharrell Human Race Sambas.
jjjjound to me is an overhyped and lazy collaborator but they did their thing on this pair. Great job Sean

thx homie
what’s the pantsss??
Live in the GTA, I got the black pair in an 8.5 ds, if you’re down to trade for the white pair (same size). Lmk
Beauty
Might as well buy gats
I like these regardless of the similarities with the base level Samba, I dont think I will be paying resale what with everything going on with releases in these present times
Is there anything official confirming this is the case for production run? Or just an assumption based on the pre-prod marketing material?

confirming what? that it wasn’t made in germany?
I really like these. Expensive but resale is even more expensive!! I wish I got them. 😢
It‘s a great pair. I don‘t get the hypocritical outcry, since NB can advertise the „made in the US/UK“ lines accordingly and nobody complains about it either. Some materials might be tanned (leather) and dyed somewhere else, but the end construction and accessories takes place in the US/UK or in this case in Germany
I wanted it but was only willing to pay if free ship from Confirmed. After taxes and jjjjound's shipping, it was $300 USD. Absolutely bollocks since it wasn't fully made in Germany.
Every day we have examples that the consumer is not respected. Only marketing matters. Money, money, money
While I am sad I didn’t get these, I heard they’re extremely narrow so they never would’ve worked for me
Cooooooooool!😎👍👍👍
I wish it was a different colorway. It just looks too similar to the og even tho it has the elevated materials. Pass for me.
While the shoe DOES abide by the laws and qualify as "made in Germany", it definitely feels like there is a massive asterisk when you talk about this shoe. As another commenter pointed out, if most of the shoe was already constructed in Vietnam, why not finish it there, saving money and reducing shipping costs/emissions? I'd also like to point out that if you're unhappy about this controversy, but you still think you would like this style of shoe, you may like the sneakers made by Collegium. They have shoes that look VERY similar to the Samba, but are made in the USA with materials sourced from Italy.

Well as long as it’s a great quality product, I’m not bothered by where’s made. Why German must make better products while Vietnamese must be inferior? The bottom line is always about how much Adidas is willing to spend on material. I’m sure if you pick an above average person on the Vietnamese production line, he or she won’t be any less than any German production person either. Give the Germans inferior stuff material and if they can turn them into buttery soft feeling shoes, then that’s something.
Looking more like 70%Vietnam 30%Germany.. added costs of shipping from Vietnam and back to Germany is what makes it more expensive.
I copped this pair on Confirmed app, and I can confirm they are very high quality and buttery, but I personally wished the suede on toe box to have longer hair like the NB’s. I actually didn’t care if they’re made in Vietnam or Germany, I went for the quality and the JJJJound branding on the shoes
Im not into that release. I wear samba since Im a child. Even my father wore em since like forever. We were a football family. Im just sad what adidas has turned out to be now in the present. Now the hipsters and money hungry company also raped the last cool shoe there was.
Would rather get MM gats if I’m going to be paying $250+
Price too high !!!!!
Amazing but I’m afraid Rishi Sunak murdered this shoe. It’s dead.
The word “craftsmanship” can be difficult to enunciate properly.
250 retail = total RIPOFF
Let’s be honest, without all the stupid jjjj’s…. This sneaker won’t cost $250. It would still look exactly the same when you look down on your feet 😂🤦🏻♂️
JJJJJound is lazy, the pair looks like great quality but still more could've been done. I don't mind the "made in vietnam/made in Germany" thing since all the brands do the same, most notoriously New Balance with the made in USA/made in UK stuff, it just feels disingenuous to market and price them for something they are not.
Overpriced
Love Sambas but I gotta say, these are trash.
To be frank I was a total hater on those “Jjjjambas” but I have seen a few on Reddit and I feel bad 🥲 for not even trying to grab them, they are growing on me 😮💨😮💨
Sean Go, I really like your videos, let's be friends!
people will complain about the price on these but then buy Jordan retros with ass quality for the same price
