@@euro51116 - To be fair, Nash was given an awful situation. He had to deal with Kyrie not getting a vaccination and not playing home games. He had to deal with injuries to Durant and Kyrie. He had to deal with James Harden forcing his way out and then Ben Simmons's circus show coming in. He had to deal with Durant's toe being on the line in Game 7 vs Milwaukee the year the Bucks won it all. And through all of that, he still finished 6th in Coach of the Year. I don't think any coach could have succeeded in that spot.

Red Auerbach's first season as a professional basketball coach was with the Washington Capitols in the 1946-47 season, during which he achieved remarkable success. He led the team to a league-best record of 49-11 in the inaugural season of the Basketball Association of America (BAA), which later became the NBA. This included a then-record 17-game winning streak. His emphasis on a fast-break style of play was innovative and effective, although his team was eliminated in the playoffs by the Chicago Stags

Imagine giving someone a FOUR YEAR DEAL to coach a team, a coach that has ZERO experience doing so. If you were someone who thought "oh, LeGM isn't a thing", well, what do you say about that now? Still think LeBron has no say in roster moves and coach hiring/firings? This team is going nowhere and JJ will last MAYBE 2 years. They won't win anything, so if anything he's guaranteed to be given one year to figure things out. That second year, if they still suck, he's out of there just like every other coach under LeBron's regime.

Having Lebron's "respect", is almost the "kiss of death" = none of the other players are going to respect JJ at all, since they already know he doesn't run the team or have any "real" power = Steve Nash, was more respected, was a better player, had more power & FAILED MISERABLY in BKN, simply because HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING, just like JJ
