This River is a masterpiece as well

When he says she’s on my mind, to me it’s in my heart. The great state of Florida, and this song brings back the memories of my childhood, wandering the pine forests, shore fishing, no a/c, how great speck tastes pan fried in a little butter, salt and pepper after spending all night on the lake to catch them. The beauty and wildlife in the springs and oceans-I was so blessed to live in a healthy and bountiful Florida. She lives in my heart, my mother, who shaped me. My Florida is long gone, the springs are sick, manatee dying, being developed literally to death.

I saw JJ at the Orpheum a few years ago in NOLA. Hands down the most spiritual experience of my life. I cried from the beginning to the end of the show!!! And I grew up a preacher's kid. He has totally changed my life and saved me countless times with his testimony!!! Can't wait to see him again!!!

I was blessed enough to discover you on you tube about a year ago. Thank you for your former service brother and current service! You bring soul soothing music to people you can't even imagine need it. I just found this live version in the middle of the Corona Virus that you shared with not only the people there, but the entire world. Absolutely genius! When things get a little rough around here, and they do get a little rough...this song soothes my soul and takes me back to a place that I do call reality. Much love & thank you for what you do! ✌

I just discovered JJ about a month ago. Being a little Florida boy myself this really hits home. The first first time I heard this tune was on KZread it was a live video. He tells a story about his hometown then goes into the song. I cried.......

It was a very special 2-night run, my first shows in close to a year and it was surreal. His voice and lyrics, along with the storytelling in a small outdoor setting ... I was so glad I decided to go the 2nd night 😊

Reminds me of my younger days when we’d build a fire on the beach or lake, guitar, harmonica just living and loving every blessing. What he sings was my childhood and 20’s, 100 percent. So blessed. Grieve my home state with every breath.
