The way this video was shot still blows my mind. They had to film him separately two times, but at different places and angles, while making sure he looked normal when they put the two videos together. How they were able to pull off that camera work at 1:06, 1:22, and 2:04 still amazes me to this day. One of my favourite music videos of all time.

But since both sides of his body have to stay the same size relative to the frame the camera man had to maintain the same distance from DOOM the whole time in both shots. The splicing was probably done with some motion software that locks specific objects in place relative to the frame. its a clever idea to say the least

It's motion tracking software. 2 different takes. The motion tracking hooks onto the face to keep the split clean between the two. The mouth is from one side (1 video) while the make uses both sides (2 videos)

@@user-uq9dc8cr3c I get the feeling he had the plug pulled on halloween considering thats when he died and it seems to align with the supervillain persona. it makes sense to me that he knew he was gonna die and decided to pull the plug on halloween to immortalize that day as DOOMSDAY, but on the other hand he loved his family too much to let them pull the plug for something so childish and trivial

MF Doom was top-tier. Spent loads of time and effort on tracks and poured his soul into the music. RIP.

Been listening to DOOM since the early space ghost days but that doesnt matter how long you've listened to someones music before they died it can still have emotional impact on you. For example I cry the most when I listen to Nujabes and I first discovered him only a few months before he died, but I feel like his death had the most emotional impact on me of any artists death because the connection i felt with his music was so new and fresh at the time, a feeling that I cherish when I discover new music I really vibe with, and after his death shortly after it made the lyrics in his songs hit so much harder. I also feel a flood of emotion and sense of sadness whenever I listen to Juice wrld's music after his passing and I never even listened to him before he died. But whenever I hear his songs on the radio I get emotional and you know why? Cuz its' REAL MUSIC and it speaks to your soul. If you're a fan of MUSIC you will understand. Some people arent fans of the music they just listen to whatever they think makes them cool.

I recently got into DOOMs music and in the short amount of time, I have grown to quite enjoy it. Got me into record collecting too. Madvillainy was the first record I bought, still my favourite one I have to date. Unmatched. RIP DOOM

I think he became the villain out of spite for what the industry did to 1. his original group (the KMD album got shelved and they got dropped) after his brother's passing, 2. The industry became more focused on superficial things and less with substance. If anything, Subroc would have been seeing his brother in pain and bitterly fighting back. But he did do it in the most glorious way. Cried my eyes out when I found out...

10 years since release and this song still hasn't met it's DOOM.

D attended all-day mastering sessions half a dozen times at vast expense. That summer, we shot a video for “Guv’nor” on the roof of the Truman Brewery with @niniandoff directing. D’s old homie @steveespopowers illustrated his lyrics for the sleeve art. Klaus Thymann shot the portraits against a London skyline. There was an actual key for some actual cuffs. It appeared in D’s London flat after an unexplained incident. “Key To The Kuffs” might mean finding creative emancipation through his forced isolation, unlocking those shackles. The album is his most directly personal. The bars are top tier with a Byzantine matrix of internal rhymes and cross-references. It’s the last album D released, where every aspect had his attention. He chose to flow outside the box. JJ’s beats are intense, sometimes very weird, and some are edits that D pieced together from JJ’s demos. The skits were handcrafted by metal fingers. The tight guestlist includes Beth Gibbons, Damon Albarn and Khujo Goodie. Daniel Dumile (RIP) was one of the most prolific artists on Lex, releasing three studio albums as lead vocalist and one as a beatmaker. We spent a huge amount of time with him in the 2010s. He’ll be missed always.
