Scientific analysis.the step down the punch is a grab and two punches.its all about what they call as conversions. Kata is just a way of encoding the moves.karate must be used like boxing. Techniques moving forward also applicable moving backward or with pivots.thats the secret for making karate effective.

Bei minute: 04:00 im Hintergrund hört man jemand Keuchen, das darf man nicht mehr machen währen des Katas (in einer Kompetition) laut neue Regeln man kann sogar Disqualifiert werden. Das selbe gilt mit sich selbsthauen um Geräusch zu machen damit es schöner sich anhört, obwohl letzteres man bis Heute immer noch macht. Liebe Grüsse aus Spanien, ehemaliger Elmshorner (nahe HH) 2Dan in Shito- und Goju Ryu hier :)

It is my interpretation. Depending on the federation there are little variation. I competed in JKA, EKF, WKF, ESKA
