Because these screams aren't much louder than speaking voice. You don't need to project more than that, because mics exist. Infact you really should NEVER project at 100%. Apart from shouting in gigs and talking over loud music overprojecting is the no.1 reason why metal vocalists fuck up their voices. You can get the same quality sound by being a bit less loud and then let the mic do it's job and you'll still be screaming in your retirement years.

It's called a false fold scream or growl. Essentially the same vocal cords that are activating when you burp. By using those specifically in a relaxed way you can get super deep powerful growls even as a woman. If your technique is bad you could completely ruin your voice

I admit, I came straight over here after watching the videoclip to see if she could actually do that live. I'm just like what the heck is this woman? I'd be impressed if it was a male singer growling like that. This girl is insane!

i fucking love tatiana. since i've been maybe 11 or 12 i always fantasized about becoming a rockstar but i thought i couldn't scream bc i'm female- tatiana was the first girl i ever heard scream and it gave me CHILLS, and still does. she's so empowering it's unreal. she has the voice of an angel and a demon all at once

yeah, except Tati does the growls differently in every show. Look at the last time she says "rise to live again" in Perennial, never seen that edge of wickedness in any other video of Perennial live, or any other song for that matter. Or in SSRO at Gas Monkey there is a scoop while growling from her medium growls, down to medium-low and up to medium high in a single breath, never seen that in any other performance of that or any other Jinjer song. Crazy cool stuff Tati comes up with just to keep from getting bored singing the same stuff every night. And Pisces she mixes up low, medium, and high growls during the chorus in all kinds of different combinations, sometimes going as low as WIGBTO or PoC.

@@j.f.fisher5318 Her rendition of Pisces here is amazing. I'd of course watched the unofficial recording of this entire concert but it's great to get the official Wacken one. I love that she mixes it up. You can watch various different live performances, which I actually prefer to the studio versions, and still get new content everytime. I don't know how often I've switched between the different versions of Cloud Factory in my downtime. I'm not sure how people think her voice even sounds close to how she does in the studio or dubbed. Maybe we just rewatch so much we probably could blind tell which recording a song is from sound alone 🤔

I love how she improvises her growls and varies it from the studio recording (even though she does it basically the same the first time). Total mastery over her voice.

such an underrated band....they deserve so much more its unbelievable. her voice is like an angel and devil together

I literally do not understand how she is able to switch back and forth from gutteral to high pitch vocal without at least a moderate verse. She's so precise.

Every single member in this band is insanely talented at what they do now that's hard to find. And I gotta say Eugene might be a fairly new bassist but he's already up there with the greats like Alex Webster to me. He's earned it. 🤘🏻

Hell, he's not even new, the band's been around for over ten years. Tatiana joined in 2009 to replace the original singer and Vlad (the drummer) came in after the first few albums had released.

Because bands and collectives in general aren't promoted by record labels these days. They want soloists with personalities that are promotable and malleable. They also like negotiating with single entities. All genres in music are hurting from this.

She can out sing any pop singer. And out scream most male metal singers. Plus she is gorgeous. And her band is very talented not trying to sound like everyone else. But she is the star in this band. Amazing vocals.

@@kwars3136 oh yes but unfortunately in my case l found out about arch enemy too late, when Alissa white gluz ( the pretty smiling girl in my profile) was already the lead singer of Arch enemy... And at that time l didn't have a great knowledge of metal, they were one of my first metal bands...... and l didn't know about Angela and Tatiana... I always thought that Alissa and only she was the incredible metal voice and she is amazing but... Not as long as them.... Am l wrong?

If you like Reaction videos the live studio version is perfect for watching people getting shocked and awed. And the sound quality is excellent and Tatiana hit some high notes that she didn't attempt here. I can't stop watching them, and I share it with some of the older folks to see how they handle it. :)))

1:02 i love how she does what she does, because probably everyone on or by that stage knows what's coming also i'm gonna be honest, i think this is my favourite one of their live performances. this performance got me more hyped up than the other ones (perennial, who is gonna be the one, teacher teacher, even vortex which is my favourite from them). could just be because the contrasts in the song make it so exciting, but i love it either way.
