She absolutely sounds like that. And she has no vocal training. She’s 100% self-taught. That’s why most everyone loves her (Tatiana). And the band being phenomenal on top of that is why most everyone loves them (Jinjer). Check out a live performance. I’d recommend “Perennial” live at Wacken, “Judgment (& Punishment)” live one-take vocal performance, and “Pit of Consciousness” live in Kiev-all for different reasons. Looking forward to your next Jinjer reaction! Also, Courtney from Spiritbox is another to check out. “Rule of Nines” is a good one to start with from them.

She said she had to train for years for her vocals...Facts. They are from 🇺🇦 Ukraine... Pls, watch Jinjer Live at Waken Pronounced (Vah- ken) song is"Prenniel" it's about the poetry of the death of a season Fall/Winter. She is bad ass as well as her Band.

I think Perennial (ESPECIALLY the wacken 2019 performance) is my favorite song by jinjer... teacher teacher is another dope track.

The one take vocal performance was recorded in Florida at her boyfriends place (Alex Lopez from Suicide Silence). It would also be nice if people would stop the contents of the song, it kills the surprise for the reaction video. Home Back on the other hand should only recommended single-handedly when there is actual context for the bands history provided with it, since it's a very personal and important topic.

Yes you really need to see them on stage so their song Who is gonna be the one live Napalm records is an open air daytime performance and you will be a believer for sure.Very nice reaction and she is self taught and has 10 years doing her thing.Tatiana is her name and their band is Jinjer from Ukraine.Their native language is Russian but they all speak English

So that is her voice no effects. There is a bit of layering in parts of this but no effects. The button you see pressed for the second chorus is for the distortion effect on the guitar. The sound she is making does not exactly use the vocal chords. It uses what are called false vocal chords and the resonance of the mouth nose and throat. That's why she makes such exaggerated mouth movements during her screams

I remember going to listen to the studio version, cause so many people were talking about this song. I thought 'Oh, a nice low-voiced lady and a screamo guy. Cool.' It wasn't until I actually watched the video that I realized both voices came from the same person. XD

Last live show before Covid was Jinjer, and live she is just as talented and can hit the changes on point! I have been to a lot of shows you can tell in studio they help the vocals A LOT. That is all her, she is so talented and amazing!!

This vocal technique is pretty routine. Maybe not _routine_ but still quite common. You can see lots of amateurs doing it if you look for covers of this song. It isn't done with the vocal cords but rather with the false cords. The best explanation of Tatiana's technique was done by The Fairy Voice Mother in her reaction to this - after she spits her tea out haha. Check out their song Perennial live at the Wacken Open Air festival (Wacken is German so the "W" is pronounced like a v, and the "a" is long, so more like "Vok-en") to see her do her thing on stage. To see a black woman using similar techniques in a great song, check out Ad Infinitum's song Marching On Versailles. Cheers!

That's all her, pure talent baby. A lot of people are capable of that kind of voice, it's just a matter of working for it really. That's why i get mad at people when they say metal is just all "ruh ruh ruh". Not just anybody can belt out those vocals, it takes work and talent, just like anything.

That IS COMPLETELY ALL her voice! It takes skill and lots of training to pull off what she does.

Don't stress the "correct" terms of her voices...we got what you meant. Most people refer to them as "clean vocals" when she sings and "vocal growls or growling" for the harsh vocals. Keep up the great reactions!

The insanity is how she goes from tiny, pretty and Angelic to full on Demon then back to an Angel and acts like its noemal. Its for real her voice when i was at the concert she cut the band dropped the mic and did all 3 different vocals including her demon scream it was fuggin incredible!!!

Welcome to Jinjer! I love the genre twisting music of this band, thank you for the great reaction! Tatiana and the whole band are incredible: Eugene on bass, Vlad on drums and Roman on guitar. They all contribute to composing, but Roman has done a lot of the musical composition and Tatiana writes most of the lyrics (the lyrics are really good, I hope you'll check them out in more Jinjer reactions). I love the story of Tatiana getting interested in learning to growl. She uses the vestibular folds (aka false cords) which are just above the vocal cords in the throat and if done right, these growls don't hurt your vocal cords. In her own words, "I was inspired by Otep (Shamaya). When I was 15, my friend showed me a record of House of Secrets. I was like, ‘That dude - his voice is so powerful. And he said, ‘Oh come on Tatiana, that’s actually a woman!’ I was like, ‘What?’ She blew my mind. That was the time, the moment when I realized I wanted to shock people just like her.
