JINJER - Judgement (& Punishment) | Caribbean Guy Reaction

Комедия

Caribbean Guy Reacts JINJER - Judgement (& Punishment). This is what I call cultural appreciation at its finest. Blending it with metal made it a very interesting flavor. I fully loved this song and have been jamming since!

Tati is safe with her husband in Socal. Eugene is staying with a friend as both of their families have been evacuated. Roman and Vlad are staying with their girlfriends from what I gather. The band is using money from the sales of their latest tshirt design and donations to buy essential items, clothing, food, appliances, medicine and such for refugees and the elderly. Also, they have provided medical care for a lady that was injured badly in the bombing of the theater in Mariupol, are securing safe housing abroad for refugees that have been evacuated already and are procuring materials used in the manufacturing of medical supplies such as tourniquets.

wow reading this just taught me what an asshole I truly am! I mean yea I may have rounded up to the nearest dollar here and there for donations going towards the people who suffered from this war at the store buying something for my selfish needs, but that didn't take any effort any thought towards the situation! I didnt have to break a single drop of sweat I havent spent one minute of my time to help anyway I could from my comfortable living situation! Yet there are people who have lost their homes separated from their loved ones whole lives turned upside down and doesnt matter if they are famous rockstars or not, their personal lives have been forever scarred forever changed and their circle of friends and family the same or maybe worse! But yet look what they are doing selflessly actively helping anyone and everyone they can! They could just sit there and play the victim card and rightfully so without remorse but they rather spend their time and energy helping strangers helping people in need! I guess Im buying a Jinjer shirt even though they wont have my size Ill just get one for my daughter and my gf fuck it! Thanks for the update guys!

Before you start the reaction.. Hats down to your opening statement and the choice behind it, pretty mature of you and I mean it with respect. I know we tend to turn our heads away from the evils around us, but we should all just imagine losing everything you have, your home, your family, people you care about, your life taken away in an instant, for reasons to you unknown. 🙏💙💛 And no, you're not talking too much, you raise a valid point.

I feel people are asking for "Home Back" mostly to help bring awareness to Ukraine and the powerful lyrics in the song. The fact you still brought it up and discussed it is what really matters. Much respect in your decision on this. Great reaction. 🤘🏻 The last update I heard was they are staying low and are with their families. They didn't want to give out much more information then that.

I'd be fine with him doing a reaction, especially if he really cared about the topic and not just did it for the views. Eugene did a small update on the Ukraine shirts they're selling & showed a couple examples of where some of that money is going. I think if anything bad would've happened they would've probably made a statement about it. So for the time we can just continue to hope that they stay safe and everything will end well, as much as it can after a war and the terrible shit that's going on there at the moment.

When you talked about how being aware of situations makes you care more, I understood that completely. We put so much pressure on ourselves saying that we care more about certain stuff just because we’re aware of it. But the fact is we care just as much about everyone else going through difficult times, it’s just impossible to be aware of every single person going through something. Unfortunately the number of people who are either living in war, in broken homes, in broken families or are just struggling with stuff like mental illness is way too high to be able to be sensitized to all of it. At the end of the day we can only hope that everyone in the world is as safe as they can be with their current situation whatever it may be.

I feel often broken with what's going on in the world, and the personal inability to change anything. It takes a huge toll on one's psyche so it's sort of normal if people naturally distance themselves from it. But at the same time, the more someone can relate, be it culturally or on a personal level, the more they'll care themselves. For me, living in Europe, specifically Germany, there are a lot of thoughts about this whole thing, purely from a political perspective even. We already had two crippling world wars, and even before that Europe was basically always at war somewhere with someone. After the second world war we had several decades of mostly peaceful relations on this continent, and then Putin comes along and throws us basically back into the last century, for a country that decided that it wants to be free, to live in a democracy. There is so much geopolitical meaning behind this as well, as we just have to think back that most democracies had to fight for this right and for their freedom. But then there's also the personal level. I became a Jinjer fan a few years ago, and I also learned a lot about the actual band and its members, about their history and personal struggles. It's evident how all that also mirrors itself within Tatiana's lyrics, and it is something I can hugely relate to. So of course hearing now what is going on in Ukraine, watching all the footage that comes out online… It's horrid, I feel sick and angry, and I am of course also worried about my favorite band potentially suffering, or worse. I think their songs are a great gift, so even from that perspective it would be a huge loss if we'd lose them. So yeah… I hope Ukraine can pull through, I hope the rest of the world can keep up the support and compassion, and I hope that after this we'll see Ukraine blooming into a beautiful, free and democratic country that becomes part of the European family.

The things going on are so horrific, you just cannot not care. Sometimes it makes The feeling of right in The moment throwing up - morally and physically disgusted. But that's not improving anyones life, If it doesn't lead to some kind of action. Like: thare's no actual use of me suffering and lastly becoming numb and paralyzed. Trying to stay away of the last. But i think this is a collective trauma. And though you might say: no, you are not suffering,it's The ukrainians. You're damn right. And yet still: in domestic violence, it's not only those who get beaten, who get ptsd. It's also those who have to watch it happening, not being able to do anything to stop it. One thing that helps: being able to do smtg. So any time I am able to do smtg I do. That's also a way of keeping ones sanity.

Good to know. 2 for 1 really. Get a good shirt and help someone out at the same time. Now this is a charity I'm down with splashing some cash on. Credit to them for giving away their cash. Key area where bands make money is merchandise. I always buy direct. When I went to gigs in UK, bands had to sell their own gear. It was amazing. Literally get to meet a band member and buy a shirt. Met Glen Benton, bought a hoodie, had a chat. Lead singer for deicide. Met Danny filth before and got stoned with pig destroyer. You'd be surprised how many bands are open to buying drugs on the mic lol. Why I love metal so much. Try meeting likes of Ed Sheeran without connections.

Tati is in the US. The three male members are still in Ukraine. Shortly after the war started the government imposed martial law which included the rule that no male of what the government considers "fighting age" can leave the country. That rule is still in effect. The male members are all in Kyive which is no longer on a front of the war. So for now they are safe.

I agree, some people just post comments or content to curry favor from someone or appease groups of lemmings. You are always very candid or just who you say...too blunt, but youre spot on with your reactions and your views of the selfish intentions profiting at the expense of those who are affected by the war in the Ukraine. On the final part. For me personally, born and raised in Europe, I think this war is more important, as it has shattered the dream of a European continent without war. There are more cultural ties between me and the people fighting for their country and rights, or fleeing the devastation, than there are the people who suffer in wars in other parts of the world. On top of that I have friends who are in or from Ukraine. One of them is from Mariupol, and me and friends we have in common spent 2 weeks without a word on whether she was still okay. It was such a relief when we finally heard from her, and even more so when she managed to escape to Poland. If I had more cultural ties to people suffering in other wars around the world, I think those wars would have a larger impact on me mentally. If I had friends or family in those places, I am sure the wars would have a bigger impact on me. It might sound cold, its not meant to be, I think its a coping mechanism for all the horrors that are going on in the world.

Much respect for your stance on reacting to "home back." While it does bring attention to the situation that's actually been going on since 2014, I kinda feel like it's a bit disingenuous to react to it now as opposed to when it first came out. Almost like reactors are only reacting for clicks because it's trending in the news. Again respect 🙏

I skip around to a lot of reaction videos to try to find real reactions, not fake ones to generate clicks. I want something intelligent, thoughtful, and with ideas I hadn't thought of myself already. That's typically a losing battle, with easily 19 out of 20 times I try to find this type of quality in reactions, it fails. Thanks for being one of the 20 successes. I like that your responses are genuine, in the moment, not fabricated, intelligent. One of the highlights of my life was visiting the Cayman Islands and Jamaica about 15 years ago. Once we landed in Jamaica, everyone went of to the beaches and my mom and I went into the interior. We hired a driver to take us to Marley's estate. I have been a guitarist since 1983 and always loved Bob Marley and my mom has always smoked pot (I don't). So, going to pay our respect to Bob was a no-brainer. As luck would have it, we were the first tourists to arrive, so we got "Fozzy," a self-professed childhood friend of Bob. As we walked the grounds Fozzy shared some of his own memories with bob as he came on different spots on the grounds. He would occasionally break out in song and point to things that Bob mentioned in the songs, i.e. "Three little birds outside my window..." and he would point to a tree outside Bob's bedroom. He showed us a tree stump that Bob would sit on as a teenage and write songs. Fozzy also showed us two tiny hand prints made in the concrete when it was first poured. Alongside one handprint it was signed "Bob" and alongside the other was "Fozzy." Fozzy then took us into the mausoleum. As luck would have it once again, Bob's remains were there - they often weren't since he was moved about, I believe eventually making it to Ethiopia. Fozzy said we could place our hands on the mausoleum, and of course, we did. This was a profound experience for me. Based on the stories Fozzy shared with us about Bob, and being able to walk the grounds, walk into Bob's bedroom which Fozzy said did not change since the day Bob died, was powerful for me. He had posters and pictures on his wall like any teenage would. I'm glad I did that. I had stories to share with people when we got back on the cruise ship, and an experience I would never forget. Unfortunately, for my friends and family who came with us, at best they might recall some cocktails, and sitting on the beach. I also met a lot of smiling, happy, locals and had some interesting discussions. I love the culture, and appreciate Jamaica's contributions to the world, i.e. music, food, Rastafarianism, etc. Unfortunately, I did not succeed in scratching one item off of my Jamaica bucket list, goat curry. That's another story. Lastly, I am not a fan of the virtue-signaling also known as self-marketing that has gone on about Ukraine, nor am I a fan of the cancel culture going after Russia. As human beings, we should want peace for EVERYONE without exception, and using ignorance, anger, and hate to combat ignorance, anger, and hate is a sad irony. We're homo sapiens, and the term implies that we are thinkers. We should use our brains to have the critical thinking to separate the lovely people of Russia for its government and leader. To conflate the two is to promote injustice and more ignorance and hate. There has never been a time in America's history where all Americans agreed with our presidents and should be conflated with them. Should people be blamed for Trump's or Biden's actions? Of course not. If people care about Ukraine, they should help any way they can, and arguing with people on social media and/or changing your profile picture isn't helping. Direct your anger towards Putin, not Russia's people. Be blessed.

You understand her "growls" because she is so good at doing them. Tati has a unique clarity to her heaviest lyrics that others could learn from - a clarity that adds to the weight and power of the vocals but are still understandable. Who needs cookiemonster unintelligible lyrics? Jinjer don't. We should still jam out to songs like these out of respect for their talent whilst at the same time being mindful and caring of their situation. I'm sure they would like to know that their work is still bringing joy in times of darkness. The Jinjer song "Home Back" is a reference to the last Russian conflict with Ukraine about a decade ago. You should check it out - the cool Bossa Nova breakdown in the middle with the weird fucked up "Dorothy tea party", is just equal parts weird, bizarre and awesome. The rest of the song is great too but that minute of oddball weirdness is a classic of our time.

They are sooo awesome live. I saw them back in November 2021 in Boston. Such a Great show. I caught COVID at the show, but it was worth it. 😂 I think people truly care more about what is going on in Ukraine because there is a real threat that if this war is escalated by NATO it could literally start World War 3. Then it would truly effect the whole world. The sanctions alone are affecting Europe. Most of Europe's oil and natural gas come from Russia. This is going to affect The European and world economy for years to come. Prayers to Jinjer and their families and all the people of Ukraine. 💙💛

For an old school Rastafarian punk/metal/reggae band, try Bad Brains. Most popular in the 80s and 90s, they were hugely influential on many bands, but they're criminally underrated. Their music can be disconnected because on some songs they're pure reggae, sometimes pure punk, sometimes a fusion. But they're always interesting

Great reaction! I think it's a good time to react to Jinjer. I've heard a lot of American KZreadrs say, that the Ukraine is far away, is not much different from Russia, they kinda had it coming and the whole war is not Americans business. Showing this band, could make people aware, that those are really people suffering, that are not that much different than Americans.(I won't talk about possible political reasons to care here). Germany is only about 400 miles away from the Ukraine, therefore there are a lot of people afraid, that the war will spread. Companies are hesitant to hire, some products aren't available, people are buying flour, pasta and canned food, just in case. And yes, we see refugees from the Ukraine every day. My vet is donating half of the cost for vaccination to Ukraine pet protection organisations, my liability insurance told me, that if I have taken in an refugee I can get the humans and their pets on my liability insurance for free, people organize human and pet food donation transports, the government allows pets without the mandatory vaccinations to enter Germany and helps organizing for them to get vaccinated here, etc. It's not perfect, but we're trying (and yes, I'm a pet person and therefore that's the help I know most about. There's probably way more in other sectors).

I’m happy to say I haven’t ran into any of those channels because that’s just gross. And I agree, there’s no better time to showcase and represent anything that brings us closer to a people who are suffering. And I always see people clap back with, “well there is always war going on in the world” or “you’re going to just forget about it in two months”. It’s like number one: We’re completely capable of holding more than one emotion or stance on more than one thing at a time. Number two: We’re here now right? Like you’re scoffing at people being supportive now, because you think we won’t be supportive later? And half the people bitching couldn’t even have shown you Ukraine on a map 3 months ago. They probably still can’t now. Sorry. I ranted. There’s been a lot of really dumb shit said by a lot of really dumb people lately. I mean like always, but specifically right now. I think people pick weird times to mind their business or not mind their business. If that makes sense lol (And not YOU you lol just the general you)

I definitely appreciate how you are so genuine and dislike people who look to capitalize on a horrible tragic issue as a trend to make themselves look good when it's been to a lesser extent like this in Ukraine since Russia invaded and took over the Crimean Peninsula back in 2014. Definitely earned my respect (and a beverage) for sure. Lions by Saudade (ft Randy Blythe and Lee "Scratch" Perry) is a great choice to give a reaction to as well.

Thx fior supporting Ukraine. You don't have to doubt about listening to Jinjer. Instead you have to be proud by yourself because of that. When you listen to their music, when you react to it you are supporting them and not only them. You support all of us, because you bring attention. Roman, Vlad and Eugene can't leave the country because the government keeps male sitizens as a hostages. Instead of touring in US and earning money for themselfs and for the Ukrainians they just sit here for nothing in danger.

You are asking the right questions and thinking - and that is the right steps to be taking in this world. You are right, people are sending prayers and posts about their support and (I hate to be the one to break it to them, but...) that does NOTHING! Thoughts, prayers, posts and talk mean very little when a gun is pointed at you. I hear you and your heart is in the right place.
