Hey folks, another of my math-y episodes! If you're interested in finding out why you're missing shots, or why you're not doing as much damage as you're supposed to, this should help you figure it out!

I feel like I need a video on angular and transversal velocities alone.
Interesting thing to consider is that a close up object that moves quickly can be harder to track than a far away object that moves at the same speed, because the angle is smaller.
Excellent stuff Jin. On the part about improving your damage output: stating a well known fact - jumping into a wormhole that has an environmental effect compatible with your turrets will also provide a big bonus! Specifically, using small turrets in a Wolf Rayet hole. Cheers.
Hey Jin'taan, there is yet another way to increase your chances of hitting your target with a turret - piloting in a way that decreases your transversal and staying at the edge of your optimal range for lazors and hybrid turrets. For projectile turrets you can use our long falloff ranges since the damage curve is not a steep as it is for lazors and hybrid turrets.

This video really helped me understand why some of my turret fits are trash. I didn’t realize how important optimal range is, and only fit to increase the DPS number.
thanks for these. with all the missing eve fest and AT its nice to hear jin`taan in other content. this brings to mind however, with all the crazy outfits ive seen you wear, ive never seen you in a CVA hat/dreads/and such a plain attire.
The only thing I could really think of that you didn't mention is the secondary effects of some ammo. Tracking penalties or bonuses mainly - although with those it's relatively easy to figure out whats going on.

I really enjoy your lore Videos and had hoped you would include a bit of it here. At example the lore behind "short range" space fight in EVE. Such heavy guns like Naglfars artillery should have a Range far far more advance in the thousands of Kilometer. At the same time the ships are in subspeed enourmous slow. There is a reason behind it if you look at how the ships generate energy, but a video about the tech lore would be really cool
For those confused like I was at the beginning of the video... "signature resolution" was cut off at the bottom of the 1400mm arty attributes tab. Guns have a sig radius they like to hit as well, but Jin'taan covered how sig is important at the end of the vid. Cheers btw, it's a good vid as usual.

The signature radius of _guns_ was normalised a long time ago, so it’s no longer relevant. All guns have the same value for that stat now, even capital ones!

How would this explain the 0-15km 0 damage on a very small stationary target if you use HAW turrets on a dreadnaught?
Would be so nice to have proper real time accuracy assistance for our ships. I wont be able to tell sometimes if i have sufficient or insufficient tracking since i can't just look in overview, then look at my turrets and then start doing math while im being fired at.
thats why i love blasters ... 0 and boom ^^

"turret tracking" is extremely unintuitive. I prefer rad/s. Also angular velocity in overview should drop a few 0's... The first 2 or 3 are waste of space and make the value harder to read.

Sadly, while rad/s is nice, there is not an option for it on the overview, because CCP wants to make things as difficult as possible.
One mistake: overheating only increases your RoF for long range turrets. For short range turrets, overheating increases the hit damage.

Also you have to make a remark about Wrecking Shots, if you get RNG=0.01 for specific turret it will do a "Wrecking Shot" (x3 Damage) even if your hit chance was 2%(0.02>0.01)
I am more confused then when i come here. Anyone know the trackin speed of drones/weapons in relationship to the target speed calculation ? Is it even worth to fit tracking links on drones? They fast already and orbiting the target in high speed in close proximity. Would the navigation computer and further increasing the speed of drones be better option as it have much better benefit values or target painter for that matter ? Thanks in advance

Drones unless they’re sentry drones don’t need tracking links unless you’re trying to shoot heavies down to frigates, and even then you’ll only need one or so. If a target isn’t faster than the non-MWD speed of a drone it’ll be able to orbit it at a slower speed and track even better, which most rats will.

I had a feeling those drone links are kinda weak and not worth the slot ( especially medium slot where I could squeeze it in) The low slot links are more powerful but still not worth the trade. Drones are kinda versatile as we can always launch scouts against frigate players or heavy against cruisers. I will just fit either target painter or drone speed instead.

We like the news content because its more objective than the bullshit that comes out of boat and mittani, according to them skillurself disbanded because their leader stole isk lol, which is completely made up seeing how he was at their meeting in which they all decided together they are going to disband, and they also claim that they never lost in fights against skillurself while zkill shows skillurself slaughtering goons and their friends on many occasions

Wait wut? 706 dmg/12.807 dmg mod = 55.1261 Where'd you get that number? I'm looking for it in the base damage and I don't see it. What am I missing?

math is wrong on your tracking component scenarios, unless you've heavily rounded off some numbers
eh, I just pew. this gave me a headache
