Sea is such a gentle, calm, and caring soul. And Jimmy recognizes it and appreciates him. That’s why in my opinion, they’re genuinely the most sweetest couple in GMM.🪷🪷

I just find "Hia" calling so endearing.. .Jimmy and Sea are indeed lowkey, but you can see they care alot for each other. JimmySea and JoongDunk my fav couples!

@@princessgrimreaper_2108 it’s another form of “Phi” which is usually how Thai people call someone older than them. In this case, “Hia” is more appropriate for someone who has Chinese ancestry.

@@jjzhgsnuz639 "hia" is an honorific prefix to their name that you use for someone older than you in age from a higher social status... for someone younger from a higher social status, "nu'" is used instead... sometimes "khun" can also be used as a general honorific regardless of gender or age, when referring to someone from a higher social status... but using khun sometimes have a sub-conscious connotation that the person you are referring to is not that close or familiar to you... so they either only use that for simple acquaintances or just to tease them...

according to google, "hia" is the same as "phi" or older brother, but "hia" is used for thai-chinese people *cmiiw

It just so happened that most Thai-Chinese people are old money rich families (in Korean they called it "chaebol" but I don't think there's an English word for it), because they root from merchant/businessmen ancestors... That's why there is a precedence that a lot of Thai-Chinese people use such honorifics... But also pure Thai descents use them too whenever appropriate...

Hia is Chinese hokkien/teochew for brother. Since Thai teochew is the prominent business ppl in bangkok, people use 'hia' in greeting. It is like you wanna buy something, you say hi boss. in this case hi, 'hia'. I think since jimmy n sea are chinese descend and know each very long time, they use 'hia' to ditch 'pi'. more closer.
