In my opinion, for being at the whole event, Jimmy got us hooked after his battle with Doyah, and the vibes carried on through out the final rounds, I was really rooting for him afer the Doyah battle. Not to take anything away from him because dude would definitely F me up in a battle, but after rewatching the battle I'd 100% give it to Icee.

Looks like hitting 10k subscribers boosted the algorithm, I hope the well-deserved growth continues! It honestly took me years to understand just how good Icee's movement is: now that I can (mostly) see it, I am always impressed. As a casual, I feel like Jimmy does a better job of putting together rounds that are comprehensible. In this battle in particular it seemed like he was working the crowd better than Icee...but from a dance standpoint I think Icee took this one. The crowd judging always bothers me. It's a disservice to the dancers because it forces them, in a way, to dance to the crowd instead of being able to fully commit to the dance. It's a disservice to the audience because people get the impression that whoever won was better, and when you have novices and fans making decisions there's a real likelihood that the better dancer loses to the flashier or more crowd-pleasing dancer, which just reinforces bad habits in viewing and competitive dancing as a whole, and it's not like the dancers are going to correct the audience (except for that one Red Bull event where a house dancer won, happily accepted the win, but then politely explained to the crowd that Alex the Cage was clearly superior and should move on in the competition). I get that audience engagement is important, and it does seem to help the energy when people feel involved, it's probably good for building a fan base...but giving them the final say is a bit much.

SDF charges money to watch semi-finals and finals shortly after the event on their platform, so it's a revenue stream for them. After they make their money, they post to KZread.

If even 2% of their KZread audience is willing to pay $2 to watch the SDF finals and semi-finals, they make twice as much. It's annoying because we're the 98%, but they gotta make money to fund SDF 2024.

Nah. ICEEE took every round if we talking hip hop movements and actually dancing. Jimmy's got the groove and the energy but his movements weren't at that elite level to pass as an answer to what ICEE was delivering. I would have been so disappointed if ICEE had lost this final. He shouldn't have had to dance that far to make that win cuz in my analysis he took all rounds. If at all Jimmy won any round it would be the round where he did the hat trick. At least he could take that for creativity and risk taking. Outside that ICEE really fucked Jimmy in terms of totality.

The stream saved icee and gave him another chance to win .. but he deserves it tho.. the whole system of choosing the winner is not it tho .. i like making the dancer choose tho

It is good to have judges but sometimes they are bias or hating. I think maybe judges and the not so great shout/scream from the crowd.

also footy lies…. get rid of them online votes… things happen in the venue that people can’t see/feel over their screen… but i guess its a business decision to have the online votes

overall i gotta say jimmy got fucked… dj, online votes and arguably even the crowd cheering for one more round where he may have alr won the previous rounds… the energy of the place in person you thought jimmy won coz he really had the crowd on his side and he was entertaining… icee danced better no doubt but idk…

At this point you need to train like a madman just to have the stamina to go through a whole summer dance event. It's getting too dragged out and ridiculous with the judging system

Why? It's a celebration of club and dance culture what's wrong with the crowd voting? Paradiso crowd is very hard to please tho and they usually go very good in voting.

Metals I think the judging is not accurate..judging should be by the host and hostess needs to pick seasoned proven dancers in the circuit that truly now the movement of the dance..masters of the never pupil stance that moves and mesmerized the crowd element to stop and watch true protection..no up and down craft of steps..AND the true steppers only get with the dopest DJ skills for real ain't no substitute in the Art of DJing..true wielders like Dj Middle•finger Maestro!!! my twin brother and me Dr Fingertipps!!! with the 4 Elements of Hop•Hip!!!..we two!!! Fulfilled it's a way and Religion to a culture that's in our Blood DNA..nothing to something and function of it..!!!..a panel of judges that know the Art of Dance..like boxing..mma..ufc..form and flow of the unknown.. it's like Basketball when skills reach the level where you can whatever you want with the basketball and no one knows what you about to do..the zone..!!! I know everyone loves Icee but he doesn’t do much for me. His style is so relaxed that it doesn’t seem like he puts much energy into his movements. I know most of it is intentional. You mentioned Icee is more flexible than Jimmy. I agree. But I would have given it to Jimmy. Reasons: more content, more energy, more creativity, and more personality.

Anytime Icee is in summer dance he's either winning it or in the finals
