Jimmy Webb: Dreamcatcher (9a/5.14d)
Спорт
In the summer of 2018, during a three-month road trip, Jimmy Webb made a spontaneous decision to try "Dreamcatcher", the iconic Chris Sharma route in Squamish, British Columbia. This video chronicles his process of training for, and then battling with Dreamcatcher. Enjoy!

Every time I see a super strong climber have to work hard to take down an iconic Sharma route, it reminds how badass Sharma was/is to have put these things up when he did

...talks about how left leg intensive dream catcher is...takes a break to go bouldering...flashes v12 left hand arete where every foot is a left heel...guess that what it's like to be strong.

Dreamcatcher is one of the best looking line in the world. The geometry of it, the long scar running against it and the lighting in the cave makes it surreal.

This remains one of my favorite Mellow videos!!! Jimmy is a monster.
This guy is such a legend they're naming a space telescope after him.
Kevin Takahashi Smith, thank you for this video and your hilarious comments made about the weather.
What a classic line. Sick send. Wanna see more of Jimmy on hard sport routes!

Jimmy Webb is the climber I aspire to be.
I remember when Sharma did this but somehow he (and i guess the way it was filmed) made it look like a big boulder problem. This document here shows just how long and sustained this route really is. Fabulous send, and great video.
Dreamcatcher is like the weirdest, sickest 9a ever...slab...ledge...aid seam.....crazy!!!
First bowl-cut ascent
climbing PORN! we have never seen such good footage of “Dreamcatcher”. what a beautiful route in a beautiful place.

Congrats Jimmy! Cant wait to see what you're thinking about doing next if you're in this kinda shape!
That was refreshing and inspiring! Great job Jimmy! In the time that I have known you, you’ve always have been on an upward trajectory. Must be the humble attitude.
Now that's some beautiful climbing. His foot work is so precise. And the line is a dream - well named climb. Thanks for this one.
So strong ! And nicely done ! Once again, the music of the send is perfect, just like it was on Sharma's and McColl's
This channel is amazing, thank you guys, sick video as always! 😍
Incredible video guys!!! Great work Jimmy!!!
the best mellow video out there. the music fits perfectly
Awesome video. Love the back story leading up to the send.
Sharma: “yeah you just dyno off the slab, took me a good number of sessions” Webb: just reached up, “yeah it’s a super good line”
Really enjoyed the vid, so funny! Well done👌
Must feel pretty great. Nice vid. Sick send. The timing must have made it super satisfying.
As always great video!

English really doesn't have that many words to classify rocks. I guess the next size up from boulder would be monolith, although the word "rock" is probably a better choice than that..

Dude the conditions in squam were SO BAD in August. It makes all these hard sends even more impressive.
Hahaha I’ve got a blue heeler, Mountain Girl, that loves to get into poop out in the woods, too! We call them forrest treats... and it drives me crazy when she does it. Awesome send man! Shout out from Chattanooga!

Damn, geology had a field day on this rock.
I envisage a beautiful future where the Mellow crew are putting up hard new sport lines as well as boulders. 🦾👌🏼✅

Says his left leg is tiered and trys some bouldering instead which consists of exactly the same movement XD

Why do climbers get so psyched about the wind being up? Do they like the breeze to cool down a little?
@frankbush8368

Overall it keeps things cool and dry; your body, the rock. Good for rubber friction. Can be the difference in sending or not. Steady light winds, cool temps and low humidity are ideal climbing conditions.
