Jimmy Rose live on the Kentucky State Senate floor 2-11-14 singing "The National Anthem" and "Coal keeps the lights on." Jimmy Rose is a singer and songwriter. He lives in his hometown Pineville, Kentucky. After graduating high school, he went straight underground to start a job as a coal miner. He is a marine veteran, having been deployed in Iraq in 2005. His girlfriend, who supports him, is named Heather Morgan. He has two children.

funny how the younger generation (i.e the redhead) does not believe they need to put their hand over their hearts for the National Anthem, but the older generation still has that respect for our flag and nation. Great music and voice Jimmy Rose!

Still hits home hard. Thank you jimmy rose for your service and for writing something that represents us small town people who make a living off coal. Brings a generational feeling of love, sacrifice, meaningful, humble way of making a living. It’s not abt what you have it’s what you do and the impact you leave behind. Men like jimmy rose are the American hero’s not these over payed outlandish selfish athletes that are idolized. That’s #jimmyrose for giving us a peace of your heart and soul.

jimmy is very talented, and I have to say, he speaks for all of the small towns in the Midwest, Coal keeps the lights on will always be a personal favorite for that reason

Your song is heartfelt and brings attention to the plight this country is in due to the draconian energy policies by the progressive/socialists on the left. They apparently will not be happy until this nation is brought to it's knees in submission. A sad day in our countries history, Nov 4 2008.
