Ziad Hajar he filmed 6 or 7 episodes of Distraction for CC, but it was pretty neutered shit, but even with FCC Compliance Jimmy still made me laugh. Show was dog shit, and got canceled, but iirc he had a special on CC somewhere around then. This was all pre-YT, streaming era, but this reaction he had to an American expression always stuck in my head. I ended up finding some 'jimmy carr deals with Heckler videos' a number of years ago and rejoiced. I've since watched all his specials, a couple episodes of Cats, Countdown, etc He was on letterman a few years ago and it just bombed because he neutered all his jokes. Jimmy's lack of success in the states has more to do with the FCC than U.S. audiences. If he'd just go off script, he could have a lot of success in the U.S. just not on broadcast t.v.

I think it's hysterical all these UK "fans" are calling Tonight Show or any other late night show in the USA "tame", like Jimmy hasn't routinely scaled down his jokes for UK performances. I'd like to point you idiots to Jimmy's appearances on UK shows such as: Loose Women (who ejected Joan Rivers once during a commercial break for letting slip ONE F-Bomb by accident), Parkinson, Jonathan Ross, and the biggest gig in show business: The Royal Variety Show. Jimmy severely toned it down on each of these gigs. Stop blaming it on the USA. It's about self-interest to get ahead. Doing a mass-appeal show will always require that acts don't speak the way they might do at the local basement comedy club. or on Graham Norton's. It's how you get ahead in life. A good comedian can do clean ANd dirty and still be funny. Jimmy wants to break into the US market. Who the hell wouldn't. This is where the big time money is. No matter how huge an artist is in the UK, US is always the brass ring.
