It's really reminiscent of John Constantine's "visit" to hell to find out if the twin sister was really there. That scene is truly epic, all those demons trying to pull him back To this day, my favorite movie that I keep watching every few years and still discovering new things. In Jimin's case, it now feels like instead of pulling him down, his demons are lifting him up. What's that saying : if you can't fight your demons, make friends with them? I think that's why he used his full voice in this song, and that's why we are all shocked, we were waiting for Jimin's sweet voice and him told us to go away with full voice and all the haters! He's a man he chooses to be, not one we decide. I'm really glad he slapped many in the face!! I love you jiminshii!!!! The writing on his chest is a german poem from th 1890's and it relates to his feelings. He said that the song is him learning he was the only one that could set himself free. He is basically over the haters and those who want to stop him . The song is no.1 in 100 countries and is the frist song to reach no.1 in less than 24 hours jimin did that . Haters are hating all over you tube right now. and it is sad. The album comes out on the 24th. The dance practice is up now.

Thank you for reacting and appreciating Jimin’s art. This is his first solo album venture and we can hear and feel that he has given his all for this project. It saddens me that haters are trying to dampen Jimin’s shine the very minute this pre-release track came out. It is expected, but still disappointing to say the least. As a person of color myself, it irks me that they nitpick everything on this song release: from the (artistic and tasteful mind you) sparing use of autotune, the simplistic (but impactful duh!) video, the use of AAVE and slur … as in everything! I am tired with these crazy lowlifes. Speaking of AAVE, I wish to know your thoughts on this. If anyone has even the bit of license to speak about AAVEs, it is you and the many other black friends we Asians have. I will say my piece while in the process of awaiting your thoughts tho … personally, I don’t see anything wrong with it. As a long-time Army, I know pretty well the level of respect BTS has to the black community. Dang the choir he has with the song is even composed of black singers! Disrespecting them is the least they want to do. The term ‘opps’ has been a hot topic of discussion right now, and haters are dragging Jimin for it. You see, this amount of senseless hate validates what JM has been wanting to express with the song. For the longest time, he has been bullied, disrespected and received arguably the most amount of dea*h threats even within BTS and Kpop in general. They are the opposition. They are the dirt being described in the song. I would even be one of the few that will criticize Jimin had he used the term opps in a wrong context. But darn, he had spit facts! He probably has been itching to burst this out for years now, but he found the most opportune time to do so now that he has the platform with his solo project. Jimin is a pure soul. OT7 Armys (not the solo stan haters which are also dirt!) and I will not allow haters to attack his art. Art that he has invested with his blood, sweat and tears. They can stay pressed. Jimin will continue soaring to greater heights, and that’s a fact!

I agree with you JimIn has “IT” you can’t describe it you just know he has it! New Jimin hits differently and yes you can hear the US influence. I read somewhere JimIn named this song part 2 from a song he did with Suga of the same name??

I felt like you could hear all his influences in the song. It’s got some similarities to Jimin ‘Lie’ BTS ‘Not today’ BTS ‘We are Bulletproof’ Travis Scott trap artist And I definitely hear a Usher influence in his vocals.

I agree! This is a beautiful single to pick for a debut. I noticed A LOT of people are reacting and loving his song and MV. So good!! Also Set me free part 1 is yin Yoongi’s mixtape D-2 but has no connection to Jimin’s.
