I think it is about feeling lonliness during COVID and alcohol is common theme in most of the songs. He starts with Face off (best song in my opinion) where he is literally having a conversation with his reflection (which he finds has endless needs), next he used the track from the Busan concert in the Interlude which ends with him pouring hiimself a glass of booze (feels like he misses performing or people), and Like Crazy is the next track where he tries to forget about his lonliness with booze and ends the song with "what's the point", leading up to the next track where he still feels Alone and he asks all the negative thoughts in his head to f**k off in Set Me Free pt 2 (that's the last track). Love this EP! 💜But why is it an EP 😩, I want more!

@@Lily-yw4ow Seems like that is how he coped with his feeling (he asks "Can you help me numb the pain?" and that "(he) can hear the voices listening" and doesnt know who they are) but towards the end he realizes, it is not working because in the song you can hear a call and response between him and the alcohol where he wishes for a "good ride" but in background he says "(he is) falling". That is why you see mud appear in parts of video I think and that is reality of his feelings, he can't drown them out anymore. Towards the end he realizes this is not working to drown these voices out saying "this is going to break me" and leaves the club and says "what is the point". In Alone he become honest with himself and actually says what he feels out loud and openly confronts the voices in Set Me Free Pt2. At least that is how I understood it.

This is exactly what he said! This album is about his past two years during COVID, and feelings of emptiness and loneliness that were eating at him away.

The album is just MASTERPIECE 😤

I think it really talks about how Jimin depended on the stage and socializing to keep his mind off of those dark thoughts he gets when he is alone. You can see a hand covered in mud pull him to the party in the beginning. When he is alone he looks like he has a lot running through his head, but when he’s at the party he seems to light up and enjoy himself. He often talks about alcohol and we know that he enjoys alcohol, but I think Jimin would drink when his mind is heavy…something that JK tends to do and at some point they started doing together. Then Covid-19 really puts the icing on the cake because as a performer and artist you had one of the roughest times as you couldn’t put on concerts and even if you held online concerts it’s not the same as hearing the crowd scream your name.

Strange that nobody is noticing the obvious Jimin is trying to say, when the clue is on him. 🙂 I guess all shall be revealed in future due time and when he is ready. Great song and I just want for him to be happy with whom ever he is and will be happy with. Im sayingggg the two pictures on his pants omggg like no ones seeing it I saw a video explaining it and I immediately went “I KNEW ITT” it is sad cus Jimin himself know that there will be people that wont accept this part of him:( I fell like that’s why he goes “this is gonna break me”

It’s (the album) literally everything! Glorious! “Face-off” is mad shmexy! Lol

It gives the vibe of a person who is experiencing depression and tries to find temporary happiness through escaping into drinking and clubbing. He talks about wanting to stay in the "happiness" while feeling alone at the same time. It is the search for an escape from depression while the depression tells you that you are a fraud and happiness is just an illusion. And it gets deeper because he is saying I need this feeling to heal. He is going out at night (dark/depression) gets lost in the lights (clubbing/temporary numbing from alcohol) but ends the song with the line "What's the point?". He also uses the mud to symbolize the muddied thoughts and actions when you are under the influence of alcohol and depression. You appear happy and have a clean life but inside your head your life is a mess. The girl wandering is his thoughts of wanting love, and love is illusive. He can see it but it doesn't see him. The girl is kissing another guy which is his thoughts of not being deserving of love. Classic depression scenarios in your head.

This song sounds like a dark fairy tale. your voice sounds like a whisper making you go somewhere. it's like a dream, but again like you're using substances. you kinda start to feel a little bit of what jimin wants us to feel. that girl, once they meet in the middle, all the half-stop shots look like we see him through that girl's eyes. and at the end he looks as the camera pans around, it's like we're spinning too but looking at him as he says "I need a way we can dream". and he looks down again like he can't find a way and it hurts him to the core. it's just not a new thought for him to cry over, just to accept that he'll keep trying. he looks at the camera often but looks different when we see the girl is nearby. it seems that he is talking to us/her. But it's like he's trying to tell us something that's hard to explain, but he does. he'd rather be outside than feel the sad emotions sober. Jimin said something about the album expressing the feelings he felt during the pandemic in chronological order. in a sense it involves the army, bts or jimin himself all at once. it was always about us, emotions confirm how he must have felt all this time. the "forever you and me" is always in the background at different times, only softly if you listen carefully. some things I still can't fully explain but it's not just us but Jimin himself, always striving for perfection but all things considered seems out of reach. the "alone again... what's the point" is so painful because he can really feel it. as if he gives up for a moment, or goes back to being sad and sober, no longer in the club where he can forget in the company of his friends, fans, etc. there's so much I want to explain, but there are some things I can't connect or explain yet. regardless, this M/V was profound. between sad and the sudden sound change slowly relieves you of the sadness and distracts you, until you are alone again, then it starts. no wonder he doesn't want to go away or be saved. he wants to live in that moment when everything is temporarily fine. the bathroom scene reminds me of movies where the party is outside and the bathrooms are where you will cry and think and reflect and drown before you go out again and forget. you want to forget, but you occasionally remember, leading you to go back and forget AGAIN. the sadness being an incentive factor to go out and party, not sober up and just enjoy the lights, completely lost. BETWEEN A MIX OF FICTION AND STRONG REALITIES. ANOTHER WORK OF ART BY THIS THINKING BEING. APPLAUSE.👏👏👏❤

The song "Like Crazy" was inspired by the movie "Like Crazy". The movie is about a couple who are in a long distance relationship and it shows the ups and downs of it. So I feel like in a way Jimin felt what the characters felt during the pandemic - having to spend time apart from his loved ones because of covid.

He is expressing that he want to live like a normal guy rather than be the strict life of a kpop idol. He literally saying idol doesn't deserve such a strict life cause they are human too.

Yeah Ous you called it in the beginning. In the Jimmy Fallon interview, Jimin said part of the inspiration for this song was the movie Like Crazy. It's a 2011 romance/drama starring Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones, and Jennifer Lawrence. And i think that's where the whispered dialogue in the beginning and end of the track is from.

what i got is he is escaping from reality and he wants to dream and stay out of his mind

Omggg i thought i was the only one who thought it gave me the weeknd vibes. I was so happy cause hes my no. 1 artist of all time.

If you listen to the whole album. In order. Including the interlude. To me it seemed like he ended up with a drinking problem. And essentially set himself free at the end. I feel like the interlude ties it all together.. just my theory though

In love with this entire album. As much as I love Set Me Free Pt.2, I'm obsessed with the 80s vibe on this song. Jimin put his everything into this album, and I expected nothing less!

The demon pulling him was actually Jimin himself, at the beginning of the mv jimin is sitting in the kitchen that turns dirty before he's pulled in the club, that hand was his, he keeps pulling himself back to the club to drink and party and numb himself hence the line (this is gonna break me) he knows it's not right to run away from the things that pile up in his life but he can't stop, so he gets lost in the lights of the clubs and parties till he's drunk and numb, but at last when it's all over he drags himself back home feeling more dirty the ending and beginning of the mv is similar like a never ending cycle, he wrote this song during the pandemic so I guess that explains a lot too

a lot of theories have been discussed about like crazy esp with the choreo... it is said that it's about jimin embracing his both feminine and masculine side. because as we all know it's really been an issue with the industry that some male idols are "too feminine" esp with jimin he is usually like the one "most feminine" as to what some people see him at first and like in the first years of bts he is like concealing his feminine side by acting more manly something like those .. so the song is like him finally embracing his both femininity and masculinity. like he can be feminine while not losing himself to his masculine side and vice versa.

THEORY LIKE CRAZY. The girl in the video is a reflection of Jimin himself, maybe even representing his hardware version or his unconscious! 'Reflection of myself in an unfamiliar form'. Jimin was probably trying to run away from problems, but he ended up being reflected in the crowd at the club? This dirt also haunted him in the club, and probably it represents exactly those experiences that dragged him in, but from which he tried to hide? When they grabbed him, they reconnected (like his conscious and unconscious, his experiences and himself) and Jimin was home again? LIKE CRAZY THEORY. A few more thoughts about how hands and dirt are tied in the clip. 'At the beginning of the clip, we see a dark hand that grabs him and, on the contrary, drags him not into reality, but into the very world where Jimin can have fun, probably a dream/fantasy that personifies escapism [avoiding unpleasant, boring in life, especially by reading, thinking, etc. about something more interesting; departure from everyday reality into other existence, other reality] The hallway scene when Jimin makes his way through the people, his attempts to get back to reality, trying to get out (he is trying to leave the club). At the moment of the meeting with the girl (again, the personification of himself?), the scene with the mirror begins, where he looks at himself. Jimin confronts himself, looks in the mirror and the room starts to change, like bringing him back to reality?
