He was absolutely the perfect match for Jimi’s music, and no doubt his drumming helped Jimi to create his own sound. The two drove each other to new heights. Like Elvin Jones and John Coltrane.

I saw him in Woodstock! Great show even though it rained right after this song. They never stopped soaking wet. They played a much much longer version of this!

how did you feel after he played this song and started improvising like crazy? must have been out of this world listening to that back then. i mean, if you listen woodstock improvisation you cant believe that was only a person doing that with a guitar...

His band was not The Experience. Larry Lee was the other guitarist and the band was Gypsy Suns and Rainbows. The song lasted 4:48, so 1 1/2 minutes longer

The video registration of this concert is nominated for the worst registratrion of a music concert ever. The material is used at schools to show all the mistakes that can be made. Amateurs would have done an incredible better job.
