Jimi didn't write this song. Don't blame him for the sentiment. Jimi was THE Man. I saw him live on multiple occasions, and it was indeed, an Experience. All those other players you mentioned were his disciples. For a young, Black kid of that time he was our only Rock Star!

@@daftoptmst In June 1967, I was a 15 year old Black kid, born and raised in The South Bronx who happened to love Rock and Roll. My Grandmother took me to see Chuck Berry when I was 5 years old, and I loved Bo Diddly and Little Richard. By '67 I loved The Beatles and The Rolling Stones too, but it sure would have been nice to see a big Rockstar who looked like me! One day I heard the DJ on the radio introduce "a new group from England", The Jimi Hendrix Experience. When "Hey Joe" came on, my head almost exploded! I thought, "These are some baddass English boys!" I ran to the record store looking for the album. When I pulled it up out of the bin and saw that face, I could have cried. There was the hero I had been waiting for. The following year I saw Jimi perform live 3 times, and I even met him at a night club I was too young to be in (even though drinking age was 18 back then!). He was my hero then, and at the age of 69, he still is!

Jimi believed that peace, love, and music could unite peoples of all colors. That when the power of love overcame the love of power we would all be free. These sentiments were also held by the late Dr Martin Luther King. Having seen Jimi live more than once I can confirm GUITAR GOD!!!! G.O.A.T? Yes. Nobody could touch Jimi musically back then, and nobody has since his death. SRV, Prince, and all the rest are good musicians but just his disciples copying what Jimi did long before they came along. Unique, talented, gifted, innovative genius, that was Jimi Hendrix. Lost to us far too soon at the age of 27. When Jimi died I wept. The greatest loss to music of a generation. As katsujinkin60 noted, Jimi was THE Man. The first time you heard Jimi live you immediately knew it. Nobody could match him. Never shook Jimi's hand, or held a conversation with Jimi to thank him for all he had given us. But one day I will, on the other side. In Heaven right now with Mitch and Noel playing to God and the Angels. Rest in peace The Jimi Hendrix Experience. You have earned that right.

If you ever get a chance, look up the interview where Ozzy describes the first time seeing Hendrix. It's hilarious. Hendrix said his biggest influence is Billy Gimmons from ZZ Top. They were good friends.

Check out Yellow Leadbetter for one of the best solos in modern times. Pearl Jam was a Seattle based band like Jimi and has a similar Seattle sound.

Funny but by Jimmi being left handed his guitar had to be strung backwards so they had to restring his guitar thats why his guitar was precious.

There are guitarists "like" Vaughn, Hendrix or Prince, but there is really no replacing them. Johnny Lang is a really good blues guitarist, and he showcases that in his early work (first two albums). However if you want to switch up genres, you should definitely check out Tender Surrender by Steve Vai, or Satch Boogie by Joe Satriani. Both of these are mind blowing.
