Jimi is the best that ever done it. It didn't take him a long time to do that. He was just gifted. He died at the age of 27 years old in 1970. There will never be another Hendrix. Legendary bro. And this was done 50 years ago. He also was way ahead of his time!!!👌✌

Jimi's playing was above everything else. But the other thing about him, no matter what he did, he just always looked cool doing it.

Those kids didn’t know what they were seeing or hearing the first time they saw Jimi Hendrix. Jimi took the guitar to a whole new level.

Also, your reaction to Jimi Hendrix was freakin PRICELESS!!! His impact in the four short years he was a solo artist speaks for itself. In the 60's segregation ruled and black people couldn't go into a lot of restaurants, clubs, stores ect. Jimi helped open those doors by the passion of his music, the style of his dress and the perception of what black people could do given the chance. Of special note, rock music was not a genre yet and Jimi doing what he was, changed the expectation of what music could be. It's so good to see a whole new generation of people feeling what I did then. UNBELIEVABLE! I played drums in a Hendrix tribute band 10 years ago and it was my honor to help keep his memory alive. Thank you so much for recognizing his brilliance and showing the world...(I changed the spelling of MY name to Jimi to honor the influence and impact he had on music and humanity). Jimi Hardin

Jimi Hendrix was a guitarist wayy ahead of his time. All his songs, covers or not are amazing and his live peformances are a site to behold. He truly does make love to his guitar, especially in a live peformance back in 69 where he grinded the guitar against amps, humped it and lit it on fire while basically playing the guitar still. I don't remember what festival it was tho. It should be up on yt tho. Glad to see you're reacting to one of my favourite musicians :D

Jimi Hendrix was a genius, a phenomenon, a titan among men. He defied all the odds, and in spite of his lamentably short lifespan, he changed every corner of the music industry in the 27 years he was alive. His unique artistic vision resulted in a legacy that has influenced the entire world.

50 years later and still no one could floss his teeth like Jimi did. Jimi is not dead he is kissing the sky forever.

There was Jimi and then there was everyone else. I saw him 4 times. Yes, "The Star Spangled Banner" and "Machine Gun" his two hard political statements are incredible. But try him doing "Wild Thing" from The Monterey Pop Music Festival and "All Along The Watchtower". "Wild Thing" especially is life altering. And shocking to this day.

As a guitarist myself, even though my late father played guitar as well, Jimi Hendrix was the reason why I pushed as far as I could in my guitar playing ability. Every guitarist will say that they were influenced by another guitarist and if they don’t say Jimi Hendrix also influence them they are lying.

Another gem of this planet gone way to early. Eric Clapton, another rock god, was so surprised and impressed by his playing. He was the GOAT of the guitars. All others have stood on his shoulders by learning from him.

I know if I was a black parent , and there was a black man on earth, who reached God like status. When the baby was sliding out the womb, he would be hearing of Jimi Hendrix, and he or she should strive to his heights. He is an excellent role model for all . I just cant believe so many young dudes weren't taught about him sooner in life.

Townsend, lead guitarist for The Who heard Jimmy play for the first time in London. He immediately called Clapton and said "We're fucked". That about sums up Jimmy's talent.

He didn't write this song, but covered it so well. Yes, he could play with his mouth and behind his back (Stevie Ray Vaughan could too). RIP Jimi and RIP Stevie Ray.

Jimi had to learn to play his guitar as a 6 year old child in Seattle on a $10.00 Sears and Roebuck special, because his family was so poor. Jimi being left handed, had to play his guitar (most are made for right handed people) upside down. Can you imagine having to learn all of the chords backwards and upside down? That's why he was, and is considered the greatest rock and Blues guitarist that ever lived. And that comes from all of the other great guitarists in the Rock world. Simply ahead of his time. He died way too young as well. (age 27).

He didn’t play the guitar completely upside down despite switching it to the other side. Jimi Hendrix switched his guitar to the other side but he restrung it. Paul McCartney was the same way too. The only one that I can think of that played the guitar completely upside down without restringing it was Albert King.

Shooting a free throw backwards with your eyes closed lmao. He for sure was plucking with his teeth. I love the shocked looks in the audience. Nobody outside of black blues circuits in america had ever seen anything like the teeth and behind the back, tricks that were expected in those blues circles. This was in Europe '66-'67, so really nobody knew what to think haha. I've been listening to Jimi for so long but every time it sounds new. Great reaction lol! Subbed!

It still boggles my mind that so many people don’t know about Jimi - Hands down the Greatest not to mention he played the guitar upside down

Jimi will always be the GOD of electric guitar players. He was only too disappointed that many of his own people didn't take to him, but those that did see him live sure did. Yes, he played with his teeth, behind his head upside down, behind his back, between his legs but near the end of his tragically short lived career, he started to abandon that and play music that was much more funky, with more blues and jazz fusion. See if you can get a live version of Wild Thing or The Star Spangled Banner to see what a stunning live performer he truly was. I feel Jimi broke down more racial barriers than all of the others before him. I was born in 63, I was 7 when he tragically died and was converted around 78. Still love the man and his music. No electric guitarist will ever surpass him

All the flashiness aside, he had a larger than life statement in the late 60s which lacks focus today. "Ain't puttin' no rope around me!!!!" In the 60's and just a few years earlier that was a real threat. When they played gigs down south, they caught tons of flak, and literal life-threatening instances. I don't think people give him much credit for what he did for the human race as a whole. Not only was he a complete genius, but a peacemaker and heartbreaker at the same time, but something larger to which we have not yet begun to view it's scope. The United States of America wanted nothing to do with him. He had to fly across the pond to get famous........then come back, and still work for it all over again. A trailblazer, genius, and wonderful soul that had to burn out way too fast . To the benefit of us all. True hero of humanity without ever knowing it. Just check out any guitar mags from the last 40 years. He's always on the cover or in the top TWO!!

Jimi was in 2023. The audience was in 1967. They were young kids on their best behavior on first dates and had a curfew. The most white kids could do back then, unless they were dancing with a partner, was tap their feet and clap at the end. Jimi was from another planet and blew their minds. They are in shock. I was 13 then and i always thought this song was about the Vietnam war. 😂 It wasn't until a few weeks ago on youtube reaction videos that i heard the lyrics.

Just to think that electric guitar sales were down at this time. Fender was struggling until Jimi showed up and helped turn around a whole industry. Incredible musician. Your reaction to him playing the guitar with his teeth and tongue is priceless.

The people at this concert did what most of us did back then, we took the performers for granted! Whether it was the Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, CCR, Santana...didn't matter, took them all too much for granted! You'd think I'd have kept my torn-in-half tickets...Santana&Tower of Power intermixed the bands, on stage, in Fresno, once upon a time but do i have proof? Nope! Took the concert too much for granted, too drunkORstoned to save the stub. Same with the others. Saw the Grateful Dead once in 'Frisco, at the Filmore West...don't remember how I got into the concert. But those were the days...

It has been said that Jimi Hendrix didn't so much play the guitar...the guitar played Jimi Hendrix. The thing is, every guitar could "possess" Jimi Hendrix. Such talent!

Really enjoy your reactions! Made me laugh when you commented on recording technology "back in the day". Records were scratched out with sharp sticks, and mixes made taping together paper cups! LOL!! HAHAHA. I've got a few suggestions from the Progressive Metal Genre - you will be amazed at the musicianship, and transitions. - Rush -> "YYZ" - they're Canadians, so they pronounce the song title as "Y Y Zed." They're one of the early prog rock bands, incredible musicians, and were loved by "music nerds". - Rush -> "Spirit of the Radio" - Yes -> "Roundabout" You've just scratched the surface of guitar greats. Jimi is definitely at the head of the line. He died too soon though, but set the music world on fire with his talent. Here are some other awesome guitar players. - Stevie Ray Vaughn - "Texas Flood" You gotta do a live version for the full effect. :-D SRV also died too young. Not to be a spoil sport or anything, but back in those days European TV audiences were told to act reserved. I remember watching old teen shows from the UK in the '60s and the host explained this as to why no one was screaming, even when the Beatles showed up.

Yes that was him playing with his teeth. Hendrix was a beast, and I guaran- fuckin -T no one sat down when he played the national anthem. Here’s a little side note, Hendrix served in the US Army 82nd airborne, and was awarded the bronze star for Valor.

Remember that Jimi played a right handed guitar left handed with the strings reversed . . that means when the guitar is upside down and behind his back it's actually the right way up - playing with his teeth was no trouble to Jimi.
