not only was he a great ballplayer, but he was one of the most humble people I've ever met. he was the type that knew if he spent a couple seconds talking to a kid that loved him, that HE may not remember it but the kid would remember it for the rest of his life. so he'd take the second to talk to the kids that wanted to talk to him. he NEVER acted like a rich, overbearing asshole like most of the MLB greats today. he was my idol and I actually had the pleasure of meeting him 3 times, all in Cleveland. he gave my dad a death stare once because he threw me a ball and my dad, being older and much taller, caught it of course. Thome stopped in his tracks and stared him down until he saw him hand me the ball. then he hit 2 HR's and a double, I somehow got his attention after the game and he actually remembered throwing me the ball because of my dad(lol) and signed it for me and took a picture with me. still one of my favorite pictures to this day, prized possession. and very glad he signed a one-day contract with the Indians specifically to retire there. it's what he deserved. now they have him a giant statue of him in Center Field, which is also what he deserved.

He was a great player and is a great person. Loved watching him when I was a kid.
When the manager watched Thome's first big league jack land in the upper he called the owner and said, "Yeah, that check you wrote to Thome? It's good."
I met him a couple days ago. I was at my baseball game playing his son. His son is good, he went 2-2 with a single and double. He is a nice guy.
I love Jim thome
Had the best looking swing in MLB history...one of the best LH hitter in the history of MLB 0:28 look at that bat flip.
I got chills watching him hit that walk-off for his 500th
#Jim Thome is My Favorite #Cleveland Indians Player!
What a class act
the sound when hes hits the ball was amazing
Some of the dingers he hit at the 98 HR Derby at Coors were awe-inspiring. If you want to teach your kid to hit, watch Jim: hands up, no wasted motion, swing from the hips.
#500 is a walk off! dude was a stud
I have met him, he is a really nice guy
Thome's swing pulling a ball to right field was always amazing to watch. Anytime he got out in front a pitch, man, you just knew he might rip the cover right off the ball.
Really cool and interesting to see his stance change over the years
I was left hand baseball swing like my child hood hero jim Thome me and Jim thome did the Roy Hobbs baseball swing this was my Jim theme baseball swing in my 2005 stesville grayhounds baseball jenior year jim theme is my childhood hero growing up watching baseball I wanted to be like Jim thome Jim thome is on the all time greats of baseball Jim thome is in the baseball hall of fame It would be very cool to meet my childhood hero Jim thome 2022
As a Red Sox fan, i remember that Mr. Thome brought a lot of pressure to me through TV screen, let alone pitchers on the mound.
500th career homerun was a walkoff, thats fucking awesome
unfortunate there's only one phillies highlight from his first time there. he was a monster there.

Majority of career in Cleveland
I know Jim and his son Landon. He has helped coach my baseball team
Hit the hardest ball I've ever seen in Milwaukee. Crack of the bat, bang off the padding in right. Much like his Homer off Clemens.
6:07 THAT'S AWESOME...
He was a monster. 👍
My favorite player. ! And was only with my Sox for 4 yrs
2 people who were clutch, ortiz & thome...period!!
The Indians absolutely need to retire this guy's number. I think it'll be only a matter of time before it happens.
As kid watching Phillies This guy is t talked about enough never knew he joined 600 club
only reason I watch the White Sox games.
SO COOL
Jim Thome was a great hitter
It was such a big deal when you came to Philly maybe an Indian at heart but your 03 season in Philly waayoyr best and your allatar 04 was just as sweet....your the man Jim....and easily my fav still got that final out ball you threw to me in 03
Never accused of PEDS. A country strong long ball hitting stud
I worked at the Jake in 07 he hit a batting pratice ball up in my section I was the only one out there too get it .. I'm so mad I couldn't get it signed
RESPECT!!💪🏽
One word , " CRUSHER " ⚾
300th with the Indians. 400th in Philly. 500th in Chicago. 600th in Minnesota. Crazy
Jim Thome The Goat!
My favorite phillie of all time
He was a beast
When they tore down old Yankee Stadium to make room for the new one in the late 2000's, they found that the right field upper deck had already been pre-demolished by Jim Thome.
By far the coolest way to get into the 500 club
Man at 0:59 the sound off the bat is simply ridiculous.

Longest ball ever hit in Jacobs Field. Probably longest ball that ever will be. I've been to the Jake many times. That's a very long way. Ridiculously long distance.
I hit home runs like Jim Thome swing in my 2005 jenior year baseball year 2005 steaville grayhounds baseball team 2005 and Roy Hobbs swing like Jim thome in my like my childhood hero Jim thome
he played for a lot of teams...future hall of famer
Is it strange when I heard Harry Kalas’s voice, I got goosebumps
That swing, man.
el duro
Will always be a whitesox player in my mind, my favorite player for sure
Bob Parr's superpower is hitting a baseball.
Anyone realize that the video is 6 minutes and twelve seconds long and he hit 612 home runs lol
One part is false. The commentator at 5:55 stated Thome has homered in every franchise he played for. He briefly played for the Dodgers in 2009 and not one home run.
Jeez, Jim has played for every AL Central tram except the Tigers. I didn’t realized Jim played for the Twins!

Forgot no Royals
No blackout game?
Did you make this video 6 minutes and 12 seconds on perpose to match his career homer in total?
I met him a few days ago, my brother plays travel so we wherein Indiana, we were at grand park and i saw him andi got his autongraoh
Man Ram, Bonds, Big Mac, Palmeiro, Giambi, A Rod, Canseco, Juan Gon, Albert Belle, Mo and Greg Vaughn..all juiced. Griffey and Thome to me were the best sluggers of the 90's. Bagwell and Big Hurt, eh idk but those 2 were to me the natural sluggers
“Like that”
Always be an Indian to me but what a career hats off to you Thome
He is now a little league baseball coach for a kid that goes to my school
パワメジャでホームラン打ちやすかった

can you do Tyrone Biggums?
The catcher's action at the 0:33 mark. He knew that the pitch was a BIG mistake.
He is the only player I use on homer in derby in mlb the show 20
Best non-steroid ridden power hitter of the modern era next to Ken Griffey JR
GO TRIBE
look at how small he was!!!!!
Nobody could hit the ball to the opposite field with more power
GOD BLESS HARRY KALAS!!
Wait did he win a ring with the Phillies? I could've sworn he did
