The one thing I find the most amazing aren't even the annualized returns, although they are, as you wel put it, ridiculous; it's the return on one particular year, 2008, when the Medallion made like a 100% gain while the market fell -40%. What is it that you do to get this type of result?

Hey Toby! I had a question for you about Edward Thorpe, I believe it was either quantitative or concentrated investing you talked about the Kelly criterion and Edward Thorpe's exploits while quoting some of his material. When researching him did you ever read his book Beat the Market and if so do you believe warrant hedging/convertible could still be feasible despite how efficient the options market is?

Thanks Austin! That stuff is all done by computers now so I'm guessing the edges are mostly arb'ed away.
