I grew up watching Hammer House of Horror when I was a kid so by the time I was 13 at the Undertaker's debut, I was already primed for that character. As the character evolved I ate it up as I love horror movies and could spot all the references/influences. I also got in to Heavy Metal around that time so the character resonated on a few different levels. The ascension thing had me riveted as that was straight out of occult folklore and horror movies. Even as I got older the stuff with Mankind and Kane was cool.

is JR saying Austin and Taker disliked each other back then? It's a little hard to tell what he means by "I thought they had chemistry but the talent involved didn't think so" or the couple different variations on how "the talent didn't think so" that he says. I don't want to misconstrue it.

Before mark became the undertaker , there was a guy already using the character in southern wrestling. Maybe they should research that before saying vince created the character. Which he didn’t. He just copyrighted it.
