    +AshFung M Well it all depends on your needs and your wallet, but for the price the squier version is really great. It's my first guitar so I'm not in your situation but it plays very smoothly, sounds good, looks great, and it's made of good components (it stays in tune so much better than the Epiphone les paul standard I borrowed before). What's your first guitar?

I've took some specs from jim's guitar, mainly just the contour on the heel to reach the higher frets and man does it help. Big time. Love music. \m/ \m/

    I saw Jim live at the recent Carolina Rebellion show. He played a custom Jaguar ( basically his signature model just different body ) with a sticker on it. It was white w/maple neck. Rest of the show he played Gibsons for some reason. I have a white Jim Root Tele and I accidentely took a nick of paint out of it today, I usually hate scratches, but it looks good on fenders.

    So I got it four days ago and it is a pure tone beast. I have it through a 6534+ and the sound is massive. The neck is nice and flat and surprisingly thin, the matte paint job has a cool quality that you can't really appreciate on the screen. String bending is just like Jim says, easy and doesn't fret out, I can bend from an A to a C# on the second string much easier that on my Gibson Les Paul Traditional. I am really happy with this purchase.

    the squiers are good too, got a squier tele and they discolor exactly thesame, they turn kinda beige, the previous owner (i bought it second hand) put a white pick guard on it and dropped an EMG 85 the BRIDGE, it sounds fucking killer, because of it being designed to be in the neck position it has a lot more bass to it and it just kills

    @jonahmoffatt locking tuner = locks the string in place so it don't slip out of the tuners (stays better in tuning) and you can tune them like you normaly do, the main reason is so you don't have to wind the strings at all. but you can wind them if you want to.

    its like a dream come true to see a telecaster made for metal. my esteem for fender raised from 1 to 8. the only thing is 22frets?!?!?!?!!!? common nobody play with a 22frets nowaday. 2 more frets and im goin to buy one

  • @sc12100
    @sc1210013 жыл бұрын

    @RelaxNplay64 Actually, the Les Paul has more density and is thicker than a TELE. This would change the tone - regardless of cut-away. A tele is less dense and like I said, Fender has had tele's installed with humbuckers since the 70s. So its not a new instrument. Plus a lot of other characteristics differ from the Tele and LP like the bridge, saddle, switches - especially, and specifications of the neck. A lot of people who play guitars do not know this - but this also plays a factor in tone.

  • @sc12100
    @sc1210013 жыл бұрын

    @RelaxNplay64 And Im not for or against either guitars mentioned. But considering the guitars shape, scales, electrical configuration, and a few other things - the tone will be different. And thats probably why Jim Root is a fan of the TELE rather than a LES PAUL. Root IS a Fender user though, as he also uses strats with the same pickups and other similar devices used on his tele.

  • @chuckelator
    @chuckelator12 жыл бұрын

    I completely agree with you!!! Though, I will say that It wasn't Jim Root that got me to check out Tele's, I've always liked them. I don't like the contour body or the contour neck heel, or the active electronics, personally, but that is a bad ass guitar. I have an American Standard Tele myself, love single coil pickups, but I want in the worst way a 72 thinline...The Semi-Hollow with the dual humbuckers.

    @jonamoffatt The tuners work exactly the same as normal tuners, the only difference been that you done have to tie knots/wind them in when re-stringing your guitar. You just pull the string through, tighten the locks and cut off the excess. Also means you can pop all six strings off in seconds and makes the head stock look really tidy. A wicked feature on this guitar :)

    @sc12100 that's one thing I like about fender guitars and basses. they're light. gibson have a great tone, but they're frikin heavy. I could end up getting this guitar because i heard that it's good for a lot more than just metal or metalcore. though i do play a decent amount of hardcore.

    I was searching up old Fender amps and somehow this was a suggested video. I honestly thought this clip would annoy me somehow, as I'm not the biggest fan of either band. Truth be told this guy seems very sincere, and he really knows his stuff. I hardly hear people mention neck radius. Personally EMGs aren't my thing, but I suppose they suit that style of music nicely.

    @philipkatsotas yes i know those guitars but they are NOT in fender catalog, the tele is only available in 2 versions. jim has several of these guitars, so he could've just put a maple neck to a white body, it's that simple. or they could be custom shop guitars (doubt it). a white tele with maple neck/fretboard is NOT available anywhere, unless it's some other tele than a jim root tele.
