It's going to be really hard to move out of the Big Bang when the show is over and get more acting roles because of the fact that he will be seen as Sheldon everywhere. The same happened to Leonardo DiCaprio with Jack in Titanic and to Ashton Kutcher with Kelso in That 70's show. Both actors were able to transition out of their character and do so much more. But it is really difficult.

Why are people so surprise that it reminds them of Sheldon Cooper? It's the same face, voice, accent, etc. Actors don't completely shapeshift when playing a role. Sheldon doesn't joke and smile that much for one thing! And you would get the same feeling from watching an interview with any sitcom actor... Just watch a David Schwimmer interview and tell me you don't see Ross Geller... Or a Steve Carell interview and don't see Michael Scott... or a Neil Patrick Harris interview and don't see Barney Stinson...

I don't get how people think he acts like Sheldon in real life. I see no resemblance. Jim Parsons seems to use a lot of big hand gestures and has a very fast, energetic way of speaking. Nothing like Sheldon at all, who speaks in a very firm, uptight way. The only similar thing I notice is the falsetto he has a tendency to use, but that's just his regular voice. The way he acts is totally dissimilar.
