I don't believe it that finally make someone a vid about the super 8 film that JIM filmed before he died. It's sooo emotional to retraced the steps that Pamela & Jim did 51 years later.... It makes me want to cry... I love it........😍

I love LA woman accompanying this video. Perfect for Pam. I’m a guitar player and our band covered this song. Our keyboard player passed away last year. I’m afraid our band will not play this wonderful tune again.😢

The tree Pamela was leaning on is now gone but you managed to find and focus in on the stump.That for me was the awe moment.Great perception.Well done.

It was beautiful back in the day but too much maintenance apparently. Also, there’s less room for trees as there are many more tombstones since ‘71. I knew the location but hadn’t physically confirmed it until last may.

Mind-blowing to see some objects like crosses and pictures are still there after all these years.

Great video man. Thankyou for doing this. My hunger to go to corsica is now at bursting point. Thankyou so much for posting this and the 8mm film. It means so much to doors fans. We keep dreaming of more unearthed jewels that await us.

Great upload! It's amazing that the picture frame and crucifix, both portable, have remained intact for over 50 years at the Difraya grave.

Thanks. Yes! I was blown away to find everything still there pretty much untouched. Those pieces are the first things i saw confirming it was right place. It was quite a moment.

I’ve wanted to see this for the longest time being a longtime fan of both Jim and Pam.. end considered buying it on eBay but the expense 🙊 thank you most kindly for doing so and sharing it so generously with all of us❤. It must be an amazing treasure to own 😊

It's extraordinary that the cemetery looks the same after over 50 years. But time makes ghosts of us all . 🇫🇷. I wonder if anybody has ever filmed the grave of Jean de Breteuil. He died today 51 years ago, 25th June 1972, 22 ans, in Morocco 🇲🇦. I understand he is buried in the family vault, in France 🇫🇷

Woooow man I just asked in an other vid with the short film by Jim where exactly in Corsica it was shot, and BAM I click on your vid now :) I mean, I know Corsica, but first, I was thinking that maybe Pam and Jim were inside Ajaccio cemetery, and now after having seen your film and the beginning with the sea soooo close to the cemetery, I understand it is clearly NOT Ajaccio, but still can't put a precise name on the place !!! I know the cult no wave french singer Lizzy Mercier Descloux died there in 2004 at only 47... She was among other things a friend of Patti Smith and they made together a famous cool photoshoot inspired by Rimbaud (the genius poet also loved by Jim !!!)... I think she is buried in the Saint Florent cimetery... Anyway, thank you again for your very quick and very useful answer and your beautiful vids :)

@@oneheadlight7172 Just a little info I found : Lizzy lived in Saint-Florent from the nineties till her death from cancer (sooo tragic and sad and unfair :( and when she died her ashes were scattered in the sea, in the bay of Saint-Florent, by her relatives (as she wanted). So I'm not sure there is a grave in the cemetery (but sometimes there is one even when there is a cremation). Anyway, thank you again ;)

This is incredible! I mean, how did you get those images? I know the last Super 8 tape is the original with Jim's handwriting, but how did you make it? did you meet them? Are you related to Jim or Pam? Thanks for sharing this treasure.

Glad you like it. Just took clips from the original super & that I have and spliced it with my footage from the cemetery. The handwriting on the plastic reel is Pams. The number 8 written on the sticker that is placed over Pam’s writing ion the reel s likely written by Jim. The writing on the film box is by Pam & her boyfriend after Jim died. I’m no relation. The super 8 was in hands of a long time collector before I got it.

It's a good story man... I know there's also super 8 footage of Jim and Pam in my country Spain at the Alhambra Granada. They enjoyed those last few months of Jim's life traveling to Spain, Morocco and Corsica. Thanks again for sharing.

It looks like the tomb behind Pam at 3:17 has been removed but the slab foundation remains.

The depth of field can play tricks. It is the same tomb but they’ve removed the decorative arch and added a level but the paint has completely worn off. If you stop the frame at the right spot you can see the top of the tombstone right in front of Pam, marking a ground level tomb, which is still there.

@@lambjack1 yes, another 2 rows added and it looks like they widened it on the left side. Also, the tomb Jim films before pointing to the top of the trees, with all the flowers on it, has been added to. Lots of changes to the place including removal of pretty much all the trees. Too much maintenance

Do you know the exact location? Next time I go to Corsica I would like to pay a visit.
