Learning how to draw, and I consistently get the best lessons from the comic artists. Composition, styles, perspective, coloring, posing, figure sketching, emotion, appeal etc. Can't think of any other genre that can tie all these things together so comprehensively as in a good comic.

Anon Nymous I always say to people who think that some people can draw while they can't, that those people who can draw well owe less to a natural *talent* than to a natural *inclination* to draw. As you've said, they can draw well because they've practiced it for years, which they've done simply because they enjoy drawing.

Sorry for the late response, but the paper is 11x17 that's the industry standard size for comic boards. If it was larger than 11x17 the board would be exact if it way bigger it would exceed the scanner bed since it's 12x17.As for your question about 14x17 scanner it can be done for $5,000. 23x17 I believe is $10,000.You can search online just type in the scanner specs and it will show up.Kinko's has a large 23x17 commercial scanner which is the better alternative.

A $2,000 12x17 Epson Expression. This scanner is over 5 years old and in tech years that's like dog years. You are better off getting a Epson workforce 7510 or7525.Both have 11x17 flat scanner,copy,email-regular fax wifi and can print as large as 13x19.You can print on regular paper, canvas sheets, poster, and bristol board. He got the large scanner and large printer between 2003-2006.That's when they were expensive and you had to buy them separately. Now you can just get a workforce.

He was taken advantage of. They basically just took his money and ran with it, no one stopped and told him what he was doing wasn't going to sell, assuming he wanted to make money. I understand he's a grown man and all, but he always clearly doesn't understand the comic industry. Of course this is all from the outside and you never really get a complete view when looking in.

***** It was basically a shit product. No one stopped and told him what he was making was outdated, poorly drawn, poorly written, and doomed for the garbage heap. It was definitely a massive flop. I don't know if he lost money on this, but he certainly didn't make much. Someone should have helped guide him and gave him some real pointers. These industry professionals KNEW this thing was a bad product and knew it was going to fail, they should have stopped him and HELPED him, rather than that they were happy doing poorly made covers at I'm sure very high prices.

Mike Mignola did an interview where he stated he asked one of the founders of Image why he kept on drawing things he really didn't want to, just the same things he always drew? His response according to Mignola was that was his job. Mignola thought it strange and that the guy could do anything he wanted if he wanted to. I think he was referring to Jim Lee because it seems like everyone did what they wanted to to, everyone had passion for their projects, except Jim Lee. He just kept doing the same thing, and from all the interviews I have seen with Jim Lee, it's just a job to him.

Jim lee is like a Maduera, he found his style and kept with it. His work and pages had a wow factor that died down ever since his x-men massive debut. I see him as an artist who knows very well how to nail down a pose, however everything else after the pose has that typical Jim lee look and quite frankly, the poses he draws are hardly original and his mastery lies on his consistency to nail that pose off of every camera angle. Nowadays compared to David finch and a rare few of guys and gals he shies grossly in comparison with the true legend that is Frazetta. Technically speaking, I appreciate his style however I do not appreciate his lack of growth in taking that style and failing to push it outside of its bounds. When people see a comic, they can automatically tell what is a Jim lee cover by the faces of the characters and the blocky nature of his forms even his woman. The same goes for the successful Greg Capullo. To me these guys are storytellers/ storyboard artists who show a rather brilliant knack into cinematography which is a refined talent meant for consistency in storytelling for comics.

Brian Bollands?? You mean the guy who drew Judge Dredd and Batman-The Killing Joke? You mean the guy whoʻs majority of work now are covers for DC?? You mean the guy that WORKS for Jim Lee and Dan Didio now??? You talking about that guy??? The same guy whoʻs never out-sold Lee yet? You talking about the same guy?? Haha, youʻre not a very good critic, which is also an indication that youʻre not a good artist, which is further indication that you really donʻt know what youʻre talking about. Lee commands the attention of buyers, sellers, collectors, but most importantly the FANDOM. But I guess in your eyes the whole world is wrong and youʻre right. Yeah ok. In the meantime everyone except you are smiling all the way to the conventions, the comic books stores and the bank. Everyone except you and Bolland, whoʻs waiting for a call from Jim Lee for his next job.
