Here's the thing.. Canelo says David benavidez has nothing to offer, but yet the only two names that are brought up are David benavidez and canelo, this is the fight that almost everybody has been asking for, the fight will do great numbers, the fans want it, so how is it that David is so called "not much to offer"?? Because you can't say that a fight has nothing to offer, but then turn around and ask for the maximum amount of money to make to fight happen, you only do that to someone who is a crazy threat, and you know David benavidez is the guy that will most likely dog walk you in the most dominant fashion.

Jim is a legend but this analysis is way off. Benavidez is not an explosive power puncher, he’s a pressure fighter with good power and a great gas tank. Moving up to heavyweight??? I would heavily favor frank sanchez over David and frank is only a top 10 heavyweight… and I’m a fan of David but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Gvozdyk could give a lot of problems as well

I think he will beat Gvozdyk because he’s been inactive really at the top level for years now. They have also sparred after Gvozdyk retired, and it went good for David. It’s not a risk fight as David’s team took a calculated fight. When canelo fought kovalev, they also said he’s old, etc. now that David fights Gvozdyk, no one says he’s old and retired fighter. I think a reason why canelo isn’t dying for the David fight is because his father and manager Sampson have made false claims over the years about offers being made to canelo. They used his name and now they really want the canelo fight.

One of Lampley's biggest flaws was taking up favorites and fanboying over them. He was recently saying that Benavidez could potentially become champ at HEAVYWEIGHT which is just insane when David has never even faced a skilled puncher even at 168. David doesn't even knockout smaller gatekeepers. He went 24 rounds with Gavril and got dropped and was lucky to escape with SD in the first fight. Even against cherrypicked rando gatekeeper Ellis who was there to be knocked out and engaging him toe to toe yet Ellis was still firing off his shots and moving around into the 11th but it was waved off just because it had been one sided. And he got taken the distance by Canelo's leftovers Plant. Plant isn't even a puncher yet was boxing David up for half the fight and brought down his aggression and workrate until he started gassing.

Even the President himself Mauricio Sulaiman has said on multiple occasions after multiple press conferences you name it KZread interviews anywhere he was asked, that after Benavidez's last 2 fights that he was going to order the Canelo vs Benavidez to be made official but obviously something behind the scenes must be holding up the fight to even make the PRESIDENT OF THE ENTIRE ORGANIZATION go back on his word on literally multiple occasions.

That's such a bad ass fight - Canelo vs Benavidez, it's a killer fight and by killer I mean dangerous for both. Being mandatory over champ isn't anything to brag about when David is the one who dropped his belt ducking out on the division. It was Canelo who stepped in and took the fights David ducked out on. David won't even petition for the fight to be ordered and instead requested a 175 eliminator (in a rando fight) as the WBC was set to rule on his 168 status (despite Benavidez SR stating they had no intention of fighting the winner of Bivol-Beterbiev). And David's manager recently said they'd reject a September fight offer even if it came because of the Gvzodyk fight in September when nobody cares about that fight and 3 months is plenty of time anyway. David postures just to stay fighting leftovers as usual.

Canelo will be spotting Munguia six years in age. Munguia has an A+ chin, A+ endurance, and A/A- power. If he takes Canelo into the late rounds, anything can happen. If Canelo comes in distracted or not 100%, he loses.
