Jim Harbaugh lays blueprint for Chargers, his return to NFL after 9 years, Justin Herbert | THE HERD

Спорт

What kind of organization does Jim Harbaugh want to build for the Los Angeles Chargers? He joins The Herd to lay out his blueprint for Colin Cowherd, one that involves good old fashion hard work and team work, and one that involves a quarterback he calls a crown jewel, Justin Herbert. Harbaugh tells Colin why he’s excited to work with Herbert, what he’s looking for in a coaching staff, and how different it is returning to the NFL after a nine-year break. Plus, Harbaugh tells Colin whether he had any doubts heading to Los Angeles from the midwest after his success with the Michigan Wolverines, and why there’s an emotional connection to the team. Finally, he talks his former quarterback JJ McCarthy, and what he’ll bring to the NFL now that he’s entered himself into the draft class.

Justin Herbert only perceived weakness is vocal leadership. He is so humble it’s hard for him to become the face of the franchise…. Harbaugh can do that, and Justin Herbert can just be who he is, the best quarterback in a long time. I don’t care about the medias obsession with Patrick Mahomes , Justin Herbert is every bit as talented and if he had any coaching at all, would’ve had the same amount of success

  • @user-ug8iu9wg4r

This is exactly why I (charger fan) wanted Harbaugh. I think a lot of HC candidates could be successful with Herbert's talent level. But Jim has this leadership style (vocal, outgoing) that will compliment Justin's quiet "show by example" leadership style. Harbaugh doesn't like to shut up and Justin doesn't like to talk. Win-win. The locker room already believes in Herbert, no concerns there.

Premature... the Chargers will go through growing pains for the next 25 games or so, as they reconfigure the roster and salary cap structure, and build a more solid foundation for the future. I could see them contending closer to 2027, 28. The Falcons are actually closer to relevant contention, if they can find their qb.

I can’t believe it’s been 9 years. I remember watching him leave San Fran & take the MI job. I felt awful. The 49ers should have given Jim a new GM. Well it has turned out more awesome! & I can’t wait until Chargers take on 49ers & Jim gets the win! It just will naturally happen. Meant to. I’m so happy for him & his family! But it all turned out to be a blessing that he made a bigger name at Michigan than at 49ers. College coaches are celebrated.

As a huge Charger fan for 42 years, I'm ready to run through a wall! Stoked about Harbaugh and his staff and Hortiz. Telesco butchered the last 6-7 drafts, never traded down, never made a move at the trade deadline, and never accumulated compensatory picks. I love Herbert, and yes, he does have to get better at the end of games, but this is a guy who never has healthy receivers, has a sieve for an offensive line, always plays hurt (especially almost all of 2022), and never plays a dam home game. This will be the 4th Offense he's going to have to learn in 5 years; hopefully it's his last. LET'S GO CHARGERS FAM! BOLT UP!
