Because sex sells better than talent. Jim sounded a lot like Marty Robbins who also had a great voice.

Jim should have scored a number 1 with Lights of Albuquerque as well..but his producers were getting out of the business & just weren't interested in promoting the song. Jim promoted it quite heavily..but he couldn't do it alone..and thus..it did not go to number 1. I think it went to 40..but with a little more push..I believe it could have topped out as Jim's 2nd number 1. Jim never got the recognition that he deserved..and it isn't fair.

What a beautiful song. Jim could sing a song. Back when country music was worth listening to. Just because of artists like this. It's to bad that just when they had it right. They figured they better go a different route and screwed it all up. Hence the saying, "If it ain't broke don't go trying to fix it." It wasn't broke. It sure is now...

I think this song means . In the morning when he wakes up . He's forgets about her for a little bit . Then all her memories come flooding back . He looks in the mirror , and don't recognize what he sees . He tells all his friends that he's getting over you . But he can't face the truth . That she's gone , and nothing is gonna bring her back . He just feels awful , that's the way it is sometimes . Your Getting To Me Again

You're Gettin' To Me Again by Jim Glaser 1984 - genre? Lyrics by: Woody Bomar, Pat McManus # Debut Chart 1 Jun '84 Country I rise in the morning but I don't shine Something's heavy on this heart of mine Another empty day so hard to begin Look in the mirror and I see a stranger I feel it coming again and I know the danger It's plain to see you're getting to me again Now I spend every waking hour thinking about you Just can't learn to live my life without you Ooooo, you're getting to me again I dream of life with you, but I'm just pretending I write you letters but I never send them Ooooo, you're getting to me again I tell my friends I'm getting over you It's easy to say but it's so untrue cause now I know our love will never end But I can't take the way your memory haunts me I've got to find a way to make you want me Can't you see you're getting to me again Now I spend every waking hour thinking about you Just can't learn to live my life without you Ooooo, you're getting to me again I dream of life with you, but I'm just pretending I write you letters but I never send them Ooooo, you're getting to me again Now I spend every waking hour thinking about you I just can't learn to live my life without you Ooooo, you're getting to me again I dream of life with you, but I'm just pretending I write you letters but I never send them Ooooo, you're getting to me again
