Anyone can say "Get to the choppa" or "“If it bleeds, we can kill it.”, but when Schwarzenegger delivers it, it has a different impact. If some jobber was delivering that line, it wouldn't work. But it worked because Ron is a legit badass.

Teddy Long announcing matches against the Undertaker was a meme back in the day...that's why.

Agree with all of the above, and another downfall to this is that WWE is just devaluing future contributions (appearances) that these legends can have on the product. 10 to 14 months from now, when Vince tries using the legends for a quick pop again, fans will remember what a waste this January 2021 legends night was, and will be even less motivated to tune in.

I really hated the fact that Drew McIntyre was doing the Hulkster taunts with Hulk Hogan. When Steve Austin was on top, was he ever playing around with legends like Sgt. Slaughter? No, he was insulting them and stunning them

Honestly: WWE is nonexistent in any measure anymore. Their product has gone beyond unbearable to stomach, and their merchandise distribution center is equally unbearable, and unreliable unless you work for the company. I question whether the company truly will be better off after Vince McMahon’s dead, or will it be beyond repair at that point? I don’t know, but CM Punk’s shoot promo seems to be more of a prophecy than a promo at this point.

You aren’t too far off. WWE is profitable on the business side but there is no doubt they are damaging their brand at least with Raw. Three hours is too long no matter how much advertiser revenue they miss out on. They shoot themselves in the foot repeatedly. I’m not even sure Vince stepping away or giving control of the company to Triple H, Stephanie, or Shane would help. I would think Hunter could do better-he’s done pretty well with NXT. Hell, he can’t be too much worse than Vince.

Oh God that would have been a great segment! Garza laughs a Boogyman instead of being afraid. We hear someone yell CUT! CUT! CUT! Cornette walks into the picture berating Garza for laughing and slaps him across the face repeatedly. There's a WWE Legends moment!

Not only do i question the wwe but also the wrestlers this company just destroys it's self and they just go along with it wow.

That Corny promo he did for a Flair vs Ripley match sounds fucking fantastic. I don't watch any of this shit and only know these characters from listening to Corny each week, but I've deliberately made a point to go look up Ripley on youtube to see what she's like and with the way she looks and sounds, this would be a perfect promo for the two of them.

The word "legend" has become so abused. Pretty much anyone who worked for WWE for 5-10 years is now considered a legend.

Surprised Cornette didn't get the Teddy Long part. It was a running gag for Long to make tag team matches with "Tha Undatakah!!!" back when he was the smackdown gm.

I just bought Legends of Wrestlemania for Ps3 as I saw you mentioning it before. This is my best memory of wrestling when I was in primary school in the 90s. I had a friend who had Brett Hart's glasses. He told me that Brett gives them to a kid and he actually gave them to this kid. I used to go around his and we would play with the figurines and then all us little uns having our own matches on a mattress (nothing perverse going on, people got dirty minds).

Teddy's announcement was based on his gimmick from his days as Smackdown GM. I assume most people familiar with that era probably got the joke.

Ill ve honest, the current roster making the legends look like old fools is an improvement, at least its better than making the current roster look like geeks.

@@slyfox2022 exactly. Cornette makes more money now just sitting down in his own house talking to Last than his payout would be to go through all the hassle of travel, dealing with people he doesn't get along with, etc. He's come flat out and said as much.

The worst legends show lol, gotta love that false advertising. Btw Vince won’t love forever so time will come but who’s to say the change will be better. Btw, Asuka is a great worker etc and Jim should know better she’s watered down just like everyone else on that main roster

I love Asuka. She's excellent and deserves more attention than just keeping the title warm for Flair. That Ripley-Flair angle sounds tasty though.

May not always agree with Corny, but the dude has a talent for setting up angles. His five minutes spent on a Rhea/Charlotte feud is significantly better than most of the main event feuds we've had in the past ten years.
