I'm not an AEW fan, but I think using Moxley as the guy to do the stuff with New Japan makes sense. Now that he's out of the title picture, it keeps him in the spotlight, and since a lot of the casual fans know Moxley well it will have them actually somewhat paying attention to the Japan guys they don't know

I agree with this. It keeps him busy because God knows we don’t need another Kenny vs Moxley match anytime soon. And him wrestling for the TNT belt probably would be neat but they need somebody homegrown to beat Miro. The New Japan stuff is good for now, I fully expect him to wrestle Tanahashi at their next PPV and maybe down the line even Okada who he’ll do the favors for hopefully.

  • @dodesskiy1

I think the reason it's always him is because he was under contract with NJPW when he also joined AEW. He was a NJPW U.S. champion while also working with AEW. Who exactly they send to the U.S. is the problem. Another is this hate, this pure hate Jim has for stars he doesn't know from his promotions. Nagata, no good. Pure pro wrestler. Kojima, no good, a powerhouse trained by Stan Hansen, emulating him. Jim is one big jerk if you ask me. He knows some things yes, but the way he talks about 99% of talented wrestlers is just nuts.

Cornette thinks WWE is the wrestling universe and can't comprehend why guys like Tony Khan, FTR, or Jon Moxley put Japanese wrestlers like Kojima on such a high pedestal or why they don't want to just bring them in to bury them. These are not jobbers, back in Cornettes peak all you saw on WCW and WWF was forgone conclusion jobber matches unless you were watching a pay-per-view or special event like Starcade.

I don't see the problem announcing their age even though they look younger. It would be different if they were trying to get Moxley over but Moxley is over and they are trying to get over the Japanese dudes so instead of it being like oh wow Moxley has a hard time with an old man it's suppose to be like holy shit this old man can go.

Which he is. He is out of touch. He likes only that stuff which reminds him of the 1980s. He, for fuck's sake booked Cena as a cyborg and Batista as a fuckin river monster. He has never been a nation wide successful booker and just knows how to talk which is his only legacy.
