Whatever you think of him, having Jim Cornette on the telecast would be good for business. This man has not been seen in public by anyone (who doesn't work for the post office and isn't a Munroe Brother) in over three years. Yet he can still draw more heat from his tiny home office, than 99% of the AEW locker room combined. The curiosity factor alone would be enough to pop a rating.

Jim Cornette for sure deserves to go into the Hall Of Fame.

It originally was part of the NWA - Cornette had nothing to do with it originally, especially considering that at that time he was running his own promotion: Smoky Mountain Wrestling - Cornette would join in 1999 after buying a stake in it, but he was only a minority share holder. He left in 2005. - OVW has nothing to do with FCW. - OVW still exists (currently owned by Al Snow) and still runs shows, even a weekly TV Show - FCW was founded by Steve Keirn in 2007 and it was indeed later renamed into NXT

It’s LONG past time that Jim and the Midnight Express to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame

Jim said something unconnected here that actually answers a lot of questions. He trademarked his name and the Midnight Express, which means WWE probably can't put out a bunch of licensed Midnight merch and videos without Jim's permission. This makes a Legends contract with Jim much less valuable to them than many others would be.

They are in the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame, which is the only Hall of Fame that actually matters, since it's a legit one. They are also in the NWA Hall of Fame. Why idiotic marks put so much weight into the WWE Crap is beyond me, it's not a Hall of Fame, it's a participation list of people who signed a legends contract, nothing else. It already got devaluated into a joke the second Koko B. Ware was inducted.

Jim Cornette is a GOAT manager, talker, and overall wrestling mind and he would be those things in any era. His memory is probably the most intact on in history. He can remember everything and he has notes and such to back it all up similar to Bret Hart.

As critical as he's always been of the WWF/E, the truth is Jim's career there without the Midnight would make him more than worthy of admission. Managed WWF champions and contenders at WrestleMania and Summerslam, had a huge hand in the concepts of Kane and Hell in a Cell, that's HoF stuff and then some.

I'll bet Ole Corny already agreed to the induction.

I think if it's Vince's call, it would just be The Midnight Express, but since we know Triple H is such a big fan of classic wrestling, I could see Him going in if it's Triple H's call

Jim, you gave your life to wrestling, You deserve to be in the Hall of Fame

Jim was one of the greatest managers of all time, even if you only look at his WWF run. He was also one of their greatest commentators, a damn good booker, and the foundation of the careers of guys like Cena, Batista, and Brock. Literally any one of those accomplishments would make Jim Hall-worthy, and he did them all. Plus, his run with Vince's company was only a fraction of his career! They have put far people in for far less. To be fair, the WWE Hall of Fame is a speech and a handshake. It would mean a lot more if they opened a physical location and put their history on display.

That said, if they never go in because they don't want to sign one of those crap contracts, fair play to them. Shouldn't the HoF be about the fan's choice and not some committee? I have no clue to who is even in this committee, but I believe it should be what the fans want to induct because we, the fans, not only grew up watching the best era of our life time (the golden era) but we were there since even Jim Cornette went from photographer to manager and we all knew how big the Midnight Express was and how they made the R&R Express huge baby faces and without the Midnight, we would not have the R&R most likely. A great protagonist is nothing without a great antagonist - true words spoken by good ol' JR himself! I feel both Ricky and Robert should induct the Midnight Express and Jim Cornette, if anyone has a right to. Their great feud would finally end! ...or will it? Of course it will. Two of the greatest tag teams of all time, one inducting the other. That is a main event in itself!

There's lots of people in the hall of fame who did their best work outside of the WWF/E. At that point it's just a recognition of their contribution to the business. Under those rules Jim and the Midnight Express definitely deserves to go in (even if it was often just based on people who Vince liked personally).

For all that Jim has contributed to the company as talent and developmental, he deserves something. The Ruthless Agression eras biggest stars came from his developmental. Randy Brock Shelton Batista Cena, let alone all of his on camera work his behind the scenes work is worthy of accolade

I thought Jim Cornette was going into the WWE Hall of Fame when I first saw this. So disappointed! He deserves to be in.

Jim was one of the best managers of the 80’s/90’s knew about nuclear heat and loved being a bad guy, also was helping Vince writing the show in WWF and was always into something behind the scenes helping out because he has that love for the business and the boys. The WWE should already have him in there and it is a travesty if it doesn’t happen soon it is more than deserved and I would love to hear James E’s speech with more than a few jabs at Jimmy Cornette’s boy Vinchenzo Russo I’m sure.

Heyman might make sense too for inducting them.

I think we can see Brians motives here a bit. Still, Corny should be able to do what he wants outside of WWE.

I'd love to see Jim and the Midnight Express inducted. Even with his feeling towards WWE. Plus Jim has to be the one to induct them. This is a tough thing to make happen but I want to see it. It's long overdue.

The fact that JC isn't in the HoF is an insult to the very spirit of the wrestling business...and leaving out the Midnight Express is only slightly less offensive. I mean..if they aren't worthy of being in, who the heck is?

Hmmm. Jim helped train "Ba-Rock Lesner!" John Cena, Chris Jericho (and his list), Kane, Sunny. . . and helped run WWE behind the scenes for a decent period of time. I think he deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame.

I remember (had to be 86/87) NWA wrestling when you had these four tag teams (all great) compete against each other - Midnight Express, Rock N Roll Express, The Road Warriors and....The Russians. I remember the Russians taking on all of those other three. I was a huge heel fan...and the Russians were my guys. It was a great heel vs heel run The Russians vs. The Midnight Express. But they faced the other two more so often. The Road Warriors at that time were heels!! That was great too. Great time in wrestling. All those teams should be in the Hall!!!

You deserve it Jim to be in the w WWE Hall of Fame also What about butch Reed, nitika koloff,Ivan koloff,bad news brown, Hercules hernandez, Paul roma,warlord.

I dont know why the News jingle always makes me laugh but it does.

Consider too if Triple H is among the people who determine the inductees, he's a self-admitted wrestling historian too and he's someone who will have far more respect for Jim and the Midnight's body of work and contributions to the business than Vince who never paid attention to any wrestling outside of his own WWF bubble. So, coming from Hunter, the invitation might be far more sincere.

If WWE is going to have a "celebrity wing" in their Hall Of Fame, it's absurd that Andy Kaufman isn't in it. He was the one celeb that really deserves it.
