The funniest thing about this whole breakdown of Smackdown is how after 1 viewing, Jim sees R-Truth as a smarmy heel, yet he's supposed to be a loveable, silly babyface 😂

The Rey vs Owens storyline towards the end sounds amazing, damn

@Shin Bakurenoh No, what Corny was going for is "Ricochet is Rey's hand picked blood brother, the one who will fight alongside him in his revenge towards Kevin Owens for stripping Rey of his mask and trying to ruin the Mysterio name". To be honest, the idea is rough.... but with a bit of tweaking, it 1. Gets Ricochet over 2. A guy who becomes huge down in Mexico, a crowd Vince always wants in his back pocket & 3. If done right, gives them a ton of merch to sell, a story that can be fleshed out (Maybe the LHP join Rey & Richochet as a new stable outta nowhere as an example) & a mega star for years to come.

@Bill Blass He may be "old fashioned" but the things he can come up with is better than everyhing produced elsewhere. Imagine if WWE booked that instead of just using plot devices like "Here comes Vince Mcmahon, he does not like Becky" or New Japan and his "great matches" but the storylines are generic as hell.

Just listening to Jim tells the story, I can visualise it happening on tv, it is bloody amazing compared to today's wwe shits.

Corenettes version with KO, Prince Puma, and Rey is story line of the YEAR! Listening to him tell that was better than anything WWE has done on tv.

I like how for most of these artworks you wonder what the heck is goin on, and then you hear the part it came from and you're just like "ohhhhhhh" :D

Finally somebody said something about that paper looking version of the WWE Championship belt, looks like you could rip it like a piece of paper

Now that storyline Jim makes up at the end would be a good wrestling show

The Ricochet Fantasy Booking was absolutely fantastic.

I didn't even notice Batista until the camera was in front of Ric's door.

Jim really is Old School but he loves wrestling and he only wants wrestling to improve and he wants things that make no sense gone

The Batista angle made great TV, but I get what you are saying about it being death for the live crowd. WWE are still in that 'making movies' state of mind.

Draw that Richochet debut out like maybe a month or two and let the unnamed Luchadore stalk Steen for a while (think Taker/Kane in 97) and you’d probably have one of the best angles ever. Love that idea.

As usual, this podcast was the most entertaining wrestling-related media I consumed this week

I love these, Jim watches Raw/Smackdown should be weekly.

I have to admit, i haven't laughed this hard in a long time as the 56:00 minute mark when Corny says the job guys are in the ring , Nakamura & Rusev with the co-host stating Nakamura wearing Kane's pajamas , then Corny proceeding to call him a Japanese Elvis impersonator. ABSOLUTE GOLD

I said the same thing! Conrad is a very bright businessman and has done really well for himself coming from being just a fan...McMahon sees it. Also Undertaker doing Starrcast probably didnt help.

Please keep doing these! I used to watch Ups and Downs on WhatCulture to get my reviews, but frankly they're marks. This is WAY more entertaining!

That storyline Jim came up with for Ricochet is very similar to Lucha Undergound and it worked. Also Konnan was his mouthpiece so his lack of promo was no problem.

Jim mentions "The Snake Pit" from my home town of Wigan, I create the unintended cheap pop!

Jim you know damn well you watch the product every week 🤨

Can we please get a review show at least once a month? Jim's insight is so cool to hear. And as always funny as fuck and entertaining as hell.

Jim is right about so many things, especially how fake the announcers come off.

I watched this episode with my 7-year-old Nephew. He got sick of everyone talking and around the U.S. title match my nephew asked me if I remember Fenix (Ray Fenix). I said 'yes' then my Nephew said: "I miss him does he wrestle here (WWE)?" I said, "No Fenix wrestles for AEW, and they begin on May 25th; I'll watch it with you." My Nephew was happy, and then we watched Fenix highlights on my phone. If WWE is trying to appeal to kids, they are doing a lousy job.

Is someone could tell him that R-Truth is face ? And open challenges are now a face stuff, this could cure him of his confusion.

Even though it was a bit campy, I liked the Rey Mysterio stuff. But like what was mentioned, Ricochet was known as Prince Puma. I'd be fine with them still calling him Ricochet but give him a mask similar to the Prince Puma one or a black mask like Tiger Mask's and black pants with a silver puma down the sides of the legs.
