From May 18, 2013 through September 29, 2013, the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown has an exhibition featuring 11 artists. It is called "Creative Hand, Discerning Heart: Form, Rhythm, Song" and this film profiles the artist Jill Bonovitz.
Jill Bonovitz creates art in a variety of ways but is best known for her ceramics, much of which is functional. She has explored wire sculpture in recent years as well. She has an interest in automatic drawing, letting natural movements of say a car ride create an aleatory drawing. She uses such forms in her clay and wire work.
Jill was one of the founders of Philadelphia's Clay Studio which has put ceramic art on the map over the past decades. Her restless imagination and keen intellect drives her ever forward in creative expression.
