I have jigged with 5" sassy shads in running water for the flathead. In calmer water I use a live perch with limited lead to reduce getting snagged. Jig in a up and down motion around structure. I have had great luck with both techniques.

Tried Berkeley gulp minnows today.funny thing I was the only one at the pond catching cats.go figure!!! Lol .great video Chris,nice to see different tactics for Catfishing !!!

ive heard of people just casting jigs like the brown one in the bottom but on top it has little spoon that spin like 2 or 3 or even arrow shaped cats hit on them

Kris, this was fascinating! I loved this episode! I've never seen anyone fish for catfish with artificial lures before! Could you repeat what the long smelly tube stuff was he put the jigs. I couldn't hear it clearly. Old age has robbed me of my hearing you know! :-) Thanks for a great show!
