I am of the belief you can never have too many safety cameras.

I believe this camera is like a lot of others that come out of the same factory but with slightly different firmware. They are sold by different vendors under various "brand" names. I've had one for a couple of years now that I bought on AliExpress, (Side note, I don't recommend anyone buy anything over a few dollars on AliExpress because they protect the seller and not the buyer.) Back to the camera, the actual optical zoom is probably around 12X with the rest being digital. You can actually buy just the camera/lens module separately without the housing if you have a way of loading the firmware. I have mine hooked up to my Hikvision NVR and the PTZ controls work really well through the phone app. The only drawback is that I can not talk through the speaker when using the Hikvision app. The presets do work and the PTZ speed is adjustable. You didn't mention the person tracking but mine works good during the daytime, not so much at night. When I cut my lawn the camera will follow me riding my mower and optically zoom in as I get farther away. The panning/tilting is very smooth when tracking. On the other hand I have a Reolink PZT with tracking (RLC-823A). The tracking is very herky-jerky, there's no zoom when tracking and there is a loud screeching motor noise that's recorded when tracking. It's only 5X zoom, (if that), but what I like is that the zoom starts at 2.7mm.

Yes a lot of products are similar and vary based on their programming. I think most people will stay with amazon because they do try to help the customer. Thanks for your input.

This particular camera is 100% optical zoom, I can attest to that. I bought mine July 2020. It's been okay, an assortment of relatively minor shortcomings. A few times it's gotten stuck doing a 'patrol' program at random, even though I've never even figured out how to create one. Jidetech support was, up until recently, pretty good at helping out and clearing glitches that I couldn't clear (notwithstanding the twelve hour lag with them being in China). Unfortunately recently it did it again, and they pretty much were done with me "broken beyond repair, sorry, we can give you a discount on a new one" - I did a full power-off/on, and it fixed one of the problems (it was stuck in IR mode), but didn't clear the random patrol happening, as well as a desire to exit a zoomed in picture after random numbers of minutes. Having pored over the options available on amazon many times, it's rare to find a camera that exceeds a 60% five-star rating. The only ones that ever get higher than that are skewed by having way too few reviews. It's puzzling how hard it is to find a truly great outdoor PTZ camera, and frustrating...

How do you reset it? I moved it and now it doesn’t agree with my password

Two ways, one is in the app under settings and the other is well what I did, I deleted my camera from the app and went out side and pressed the reset button on the camera and then scanned bar code as if were new..

A lot of the reviews I've read more or less rag on the shitty software that comes with this and other cams. Perhaps someone will develop an app that can interface with these cams and expand their functionality. I'd like to get one in this price range because my house has a great vantage point of a shopping center loading dock, autozone, lazerlube, BK, a gas station and sometimes fireworks displays over downtown a mile behind those if the cam can tilt above the horizon a few degrees. Those businesses are 300-600 feet away.

Sorry for the late reply, I do agree on the software and that would be awesome if we could use a universal app or program to operate all our cameras. I have 20 now on the house and using different apps is a bit annoying.. However this JideTech 5MP PTZ Camera has started glitching and has gone offline, I just wrote the manufacturer for assistance or a replacement. I'll keep you posted...

@@ACUmancave I've since bought the Sunba P636 V1. That thing can see very far away and capture license plates near the quoted range (in daytime), but being the V1, doesn't have auto tracking, so I can only go to set-points and remain so for a minimum of 30 seconds. An app that could save it's own set points and delays would allow my loop to cycle much quicker.

@@MichaelJeffers75 Nice looking cam, I like that but I think I will upgrade mine since this one also doesn't track and tracking would be nice.

Hard call, do you want a bullet cam or dome? Do you want something on an nvr that record and you view on a tv or monitor or do you want something simple you view on your phone or tablet?
