You can still beat mid 2000s rap to this day and it shuts down any of the rappers today who are considered relevant, now. Real talk! The beats were way better then, the artists were way better then, the DJ's were way better then. There's no comparison when it comes to the beats produced back then and the beats put out now. In the mid 90s through the 2000s you had DJ's like Timbaland, Mannie Fresh, KLC, DR. Dre, and the list goes on. Today's beats are mostly computerized and autotune, and today's rappers are mostly mumble rappers. There's no comparison! I bet if any of the relevant rap artists from the mid to late 90s through the mid 2000s had a rap battle with any of the artists deemed relevant now, the old school rap artists and mixologists would win every time, hands down!
