Basically, WWX was asked to name his sister's unborn child and he named it "the new generation of Lan". Even JC asks him wtf would u name a Jin/Jiang kid as Lan, but WWX claims that Lan means smart and elegant or some shit like that. Shijie thinks it's hilarious, so the kid is named Jin Ling (given/birth name) and RuLan (courtesy name).

It's more like Jiang Cheng is jealous that Wei Wuxian is focusing on Lan Wangji. Remember, they only really had each other growing up, and Wei Wuxian is known for being a flirt and being an overcompensating people person/pleaser but even when Wei Wuxian was with other people, he still focused on his brother. Except with Lan Zhan his focus was and still is solely on Lan Zhan. Jiang Cheng was jealous, he didn't really care about sexuality he just wanted to focus on his family.

Jiang Cheng in the series is a way better (nicer, understandable and more amiable) character than in the books. His hate in the books is mainly based on his inferior complex towards an oblivious WuXian. He doesn't really apologize or change to the better unlike in the series where his character shifts forth and back with the happenings. I liked him way more in the drama series.

I don't think so. In the novel, Jiang Cheng cared for Wei Wuxian. When WWX disappeared, JC, despite being busy with sunshot campaign, he still tried to search for WWX. When he found him, he never cared what methods WWX used even if it was evil or demonic path, JC welcomed WWX with open arms. JC was even put in a difficult situation where as one of the sect leaders, naturally they are against demonic cultivators, but WWX is his brother and best friend. He tried his best to protect WWX and their sector in his own ways. When WWX died, everyone knew how JC hated demonic cultivators even more. Probably bcoz it's the main reason why her sister and WWX died, but when WWX got resurrected and JC found him, he never tried killing WWX. JC lets WWX sit there and talk with him, waiting for WWX to explain. The reason why JC was captured by the Wen Sect back then was bcoz he tried to protect WWX, but JC never mentioned it to WWX and that is a genuine love, he doesn't want anything in return. They both love each other as siblings. I feel sorry for JC. He lost both of his parents and sister, and WWX promised him that they will stick to each other like the Jade twins, but in the end even WWX left him. Without Jin Ling, there'll be no one by his side.

3 months later, but something I like in the novel better than the drama is that it’s likely that JC didn’t even try to kill WWX (leading a siege is not quite killing lol). The backlash of breaking the seal is what likely killed him. I sometimes wonder what was going through JCs head when he heard or if he saw his brother get mauled to death by fricking corpses. Man, I need to read some fluff, I made myself sad. That all being said I enjoy the different versions of JC.

Jiang Cheng was quite homophobic in the book version. He acted like a titanic jerk when he saw Lan Zhan and Wei Ying hug. All things considered, I like Cheng but he has been out of line.

He really was resentful to Wei Wuxian because Fengmian always went so easy on him, while he was hard on Cheng (because he was going to one day lead the clan). I understand the way he feels (except with how mean he is to Jin Ling) and his cruelty to Wei. He's hurting, and people in pain lash out. I don't even know if he was truly homophobic, or if he was just resentful that Wei fell in love and was able to be happy even after his first death. Like, Cheng worked so hard for everything, but love and respect and renown came so easily for Wei (at least in Cheng's view).

He got called out by Jin Guang yao and Wen ning in the end anyways. But then again we didn't get a reconciliation chapter which I think is because Wei ying thinks jiang Cheng hates him and wants nothing to do with him then there's jiang cheng who thinks weiying should be left alone in his marital bliss and wallow in his own loneliness as he had for 13 yrs. But then again in the extras Lan Zhan and Wei Ying were in a lake where Jiang Cheng and him used to steal which can only be in Yunmeng so....maybe they had a truce, maybe they reconciled?

This is amazinggggg I swear none of the Untamed subtitles are 100% accurate for some reason like other Chinese dramas, it was poorly done, I hope they can revise them and improve the translation He does not say "great friendship" he hints that they he insulted their relationship, that's why WeiYing grabs his collar, because Wei Ying still isn't sure if Lan Zhan has feelings for him, so he doesn't want LZ to feel insulted by JC saying they're in a relationship

jajajaaj I love Jiang Cheng attitude. he is such a spoiled, jelousy, possesive with his brother. I think it's thanks to him, when he said that about the tree, finally Wei wuxian noticed his true feelings because there wasn't only in his mind, someone else saw this too. And pushes their relationship further, Wei wuxian needs to face the situation and Lan Wanji needs to know if the Wwx's feelings were sincere. So, for my personal opinion Lan XiChen is the number one openly shipper and jiang Cheng is the number one secretly shipper jajajajaja ❤️❤️❤️
