Mitarai is a port town on Osaki-Shimojima (Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture) in the Seto Inland Sea. This area was selected as an Important Preservation District for Traditional Buildings in 1994.

リラックスしたいときに好きな紅茶を用意して見てます。
昔の街並みってこんな感じでしたよね。路地が入り組んでいて、そこでかくれんぼしたり鬼ごっこをしたり😄😄 買い物かごを提げた奥さん達が立ち話に花を咲かせて。 御手洗は海のそばの町独特の雰囲気がありますね。 昭和ですよね。良い時代だったな。特別なことはなかったけど心に染みこんでいる時代、それが色濃く感じられますね。 瀬戸内の海と生きる御手洗の町を満喫しました。

日本人の心をギュッと掴むような街並み…。 タイムスリップしたかのような風景…。 こういう街並みが残っていてくれたなんて。 いつもながらの映像技術に感服します。
落ち着いた雰囲気に満ち満ちてる、港町ですね。現代の港湾や港町の雰囲気とは、かなり違う。自分が生まれるずっと前、きっと、明治生まれの曾祖父母達は、こんな町並みを見ながら、やがて、私の祖父、祖母となる子らと生きていたのかな…。曾祖父の姿も声も知らないけど、ほんの幼いころ、母方の曾祖母には、何度か頭を撫でてもらった記憶があります。顔はよく覚えていないけど。(笑)祖父母に比べて、どこか、想像上の人物のような、曾祖父母の生きていた時代を感じさせてくれて、ありがとうございます。現代も生き続けている正真正銘、本物のレトロ。とても素敵でした。🍀

長年日本に住んで、しかも呉市にも住んだことがある身ながら、こういう街があることを知りませんでした。 しばらくぶりに旅情を掻き立てられる映像を見た気がします。 今まさに牡蠣のシーズン。瀬戸内の島々の牡蠣は美味しいんですよ。訪ねてみたくなりました。

私もそう思います。2年前の夏に四国に旅行に行ったんですけど、本当に美しい景色がいっぱいありました。またいつか行きたい。
本当落ち着きます。また奈良県もお願いしたいです。まだまだたくさんいい所あると思うので

なぜここに天満宮が？と思って調べてみたら道真公が大宰府へ向かう途中に立ち寄り井戸で手を洗ったのが御手洗の地名由来のひとつとか。なるほど納得の地名でした。その他にもこの地域はいくつかの歴史的にも重要な地や遺産が残されてたりCMや映画・アニメのロケ地としても度々知られる場所でもあり、重要伝統的建造物群保存地区として選ばれるのもわかります。 くわえて風光明媚な瀬戸内の海や公園から見下ろす港の景色などを見ると、とても心が安らぎラストの夕焼けも最高でした。 今回も美しい日本の風景をありがとうございました^^

いつもご視聴いただき誠にありがとうございます！！ 私も天満宮ということで最初は驚きました。歴史ロマンを改めて感じることができました。夕日の映像もお楽しみいただけとても嬉しいです。船のスピードがとても速かったので自宅に帰るまできちんと撮影できているか不安でした（笑）スピードのせいか船からの映像は全て傾いていました😊

I was looking up historic places to travel to, but couldn't find anything besides typical Kyoto, Shirakawa-go, Kiso valley. I am so happy I found your channel because you post about historic places none mentions! From now on, your videos will be my itinerary.

This is so beautiful simple unique watching from Philippines at lunchtime,the music was like to subliminal it was so relaxing 💖💖💖...
One of the oldest watch repair shops in Japan is in this village. Also, this was a major trading port of Seto Inland Sea during pre-Meiji times, in that days of sail, large ships had to dock here and transfer cargo to smaller craft that could navigate tides to reach mainland...

So far all the videos ive watched were just like a ghost town but it's not of course. But where is everyone? I love it anyway, so cool, so gentle, so quiet and peaceful place to live in. The total tranquility that has been inside is beyond compare.

It actually pretty much is. This is a cultural preservation village, with only 300 people living in it. Many of the houses are abandoned and empty. It's kept clean and maintained for cultural purposes.
I´m from Brazil and I love the videos of your channel.

You have revealed the essence of a charming island town, a quiet backwater and a throw-back to another time. I know its not the same (not even close) but it kinda reminded me of my visit to Itsukushima after the day-trippers left and the island was quiet. Such a beautiful video, took me straight back to the time when I lived in Onomichi for a few years and often visited the surrounding islands.
This is very well done, mountains, islands, bridges, a seashore, what a wonderful site that you could only find in Japan. Truly excellent work and attention to detail in the old town, very impressive.
These old towns are always reminiscent of the past. I wonder what it was like in its most vibrant times. Great video!
