I was a sophomore in high school, Los Gatos, CA. Lots of hours listening to our favorite radio station, KEWB. Bitchin'!!!

I started listening to KEWB in 1961, when I first moved from LA to SF ... transistor radio in bedroom ... a VERY different world!

The audio quality sounds fantastic! This must have been recorded in KEWB's studio. There's no way someone recorded this from an AM radio.

My 2 transistor radio wouldn't pick up KEWB from Sunnyvale. So, around 1963, we went to PayLess and upgraded to an 8 transistor just to get it. "More" was my absolute favorite then and still love it.

You suffered from the start with a measly 2-transistor? ROTFL! Most kids/tweens my age then started by '59-'60 with a good 6-transistor, and soon after '63, we got 8-transistors. They still sold 2-transistors in '63? BTW, the better instrumental that year (and there were some good ones, including "More") was "Our Winter Love" (#9 pop, #4 Easy Listening, #20 R&B; Mar. 1963) by Bill Pursell.

On this day, 30 years later, I got married and live in the East Bay! The A’s were in Kansas City and referring to the American League as the “junior league” is hilarious. Thanks for the boss, groovy post Dave!

Mays hit that homer in the 5th inning.Funny how the Liston-Paterson fights were called fiascos,a term that could be better applied to Liston's next two fights.

David Von Pein's JFK Channel Hey David. I was 7 years old but remember these days like yesterday. I so long for these days and the feel good innocence they had. Definitely the era of JFK and the innocence of the youth and Camelot. This was the final days of this feel and innocence in America. 64 was transitional.
