I am a sitter for a Jewish lady. One of the best things I have discovered while taking care of her is your prayer site. I am Catholic but we listen to you every morning. You touch out soul with your prayers. God bless you and continue the good work.

Thank you. G-d bless you Rabbi. My grandfather revealed to me as a little child that we are Jewish although he was practicing Christianity. We didn't have a synagogue in my small town in the South because of hatred and antisemitism. I chose Judaism as a small child in my heart and it has always been burning there. I never asked my grandfather how he was Jesus because he was labeled as black with his dark coal black hair and his reddish skin. So was my grandmother even though she had long hair and light skin and was of Native American ancestry and her father was either African or Native American too. We lived in fear and so like the yellow stars during WWII, we were made to accept what we were given. My father is of possible Jamaican or African origin so I don't have the features of my mother, but my father. My love for Judaism never changed as I was mostly raised by my mother and grandparents. I moved later to Omaha, NE where is an active Jewish community. My first visit and worship was at an Orthodox Synagogue. I'll tell you the miracle that happened that day later. There are still Nazi, KKK, and other hate organizations and Anti-Semitism here even in my family. It is hard being Black and Jewish here even amongst the Black community here. Would you help me rabbi? I need some help and support. By the way, my name is Keisha.

My father may he rest in peace. He always loved everyone especially the Jewish people that gave him an opportunity for work. Especially to take care of his 10 children.

Morning Prayer / Blessing : I give thanks before You, the King of the universe. I admit that I am here for a reason. I admit that I do not run this world. I admit that I need You God. You are alive and this morning I'm alive, a gift of a new day. You give me great mercy. You keep me alive every day. How great is Your faith in me.

Thank you so much, Rabbi. This is profoundly helpful. Having the breakdown of each phrase with the English translations makes these prayers less of the rote memorization and repetition that I found to be common in my upbringing. Hearing how the prayers are constructed gives them meaning and makes us able to connect with them.

i finally was able to get some money I am hoping to be able to find a place that I can move that is close to a Jewish community so I can convert properly. I been wishing for this and praying to give myself to G-d for He saved me on a walk through the woods for 50 miles in one day because i was getting away from an abusive relationship. I went on faith alone it has no explanation. He gave me apples and water and food during my path and I decided to give Him my life because He saved me from 2 packs of coyotes. Blessed be G-d so now I need to give myself to Him officially because He has faith in me. This is my dream where should I go though.

Baruch HaShem. We as Jews need people like you to make Torah and Jewish life approachable, understanding and beautifully explained in a simple way. I think if more Rabbis and other Jews explained Jewish life and scripture like this more people (Jew and non jew) would cleave Torah to their hearts.

This is the best and clearest resource I’ve found, please consider doing these videos for all three daily prayers and Shabbat. It would help me so much. Could you also reply to this with where women who are not fully obligated in shacharit can stop? It’s unclear to me how much of the morning blessings I’m obligated in.
