Jewelry Techniques: Filing and Sanding

This is another video in my Jewelry Techniques Series. In these videos I will be going over the demos and lessons that I use in instructing the Intro to Jewelry and Metalsmithing class at Wayne State University.
In this video I go over the basic of using Files and Sandpaper to clean up your work. Attached you will find a Filing and Sanding handout with some helpful reference information. If you are a Metalsmithing or Art Educator please feel free to use this handout in your own lessons.

Thanks for commenting, my guess would be that the file you are using has too large of a tooth to it. You probably should switch to a finer file and make sure the piece you are trying to file is firmly pressed against a hard surface to help absorb any excess vibrations.
