Wow, what a way to end a show. I had no idea just how good she is, her command of the band and her ability to change the song in the moment shows true talent. No need for endless backing tracks and precisely choreographed dance moves, she has complete control of the music and it's all from within!

The first time I heard this song I was standing over a photocopier at one of my clients and this was playing softly through the speakers in the ceiling ... and I said to myself "what is this song ? " ... and I made a point of finding the song that night. It's been one of my favorites ever since ...

She's helped sooooo many people in her life with never an intention to profit from it. Just a beautiful soul with a stunning voice.

In 1997, Jewel established Project Clean Water, a foundation that works to improve the quality of life for millions of people by helping to provide clean water on a global scale. For 21 years, Jewel’s Inspiring Children Foundation (ICF) has been transforming the lives of at-risk youth in Las Vegas through a whole human approach to physical, emotional and mental health. ICF serves hundreds of youth in-person and millions online. 95% of students in their Leadership Program have earned college scholarships for academics & athletics (tennis) to some of the best colleges in the US. Parts of the program are now being duplicated in 22 cities by other non profits.

Doug Pettibone played guitar for Jewel at that time. He later played for Lucinda Williams over 8 years or so. Extremely talented, whether it’s on pedal steel, acoustic or hard rock electric guitar.

I met this wonderful woman at an oyster bar/pub in Victoria, BC way back in the 80's if my memory serves me correctly. The oysters were Fanny Bay premiums and our chat was on top of the world!

It still makes sense after 25 years that it was played between Nirvana and SG.
