Chris Atkinson were gearhead as mutch as you are if not even more. That car goes at the track, runs daily in summer and if the engine got worn out its not even a 300$ replacement cost.

Was the supercharging very expensive ? I am thinking about putting a Mercedes Kompressor Supercharger to my 1.6 petrol mk2.Also you did it yourself ? If yes,was it complicated

Its kinda expensive for the gain it is estimated to be around 200-250hp you also need to relocate the alternator. It's fun to drive though. It came as a "bolt on kit" he got a Link standalone that's probably the tough part.

The tough part is ponying up the $3500 for the bbm supercharger, when you can buy a built engine for less.

Boar Garage, Your plan is verymuch achievable if you want to do it yourself, i fitted a 271 kompressor on my mk3, if you need any advice feel free to ask.

Jens T cut him some slack, that car is daily driven in the summer and goes at the track every time he can. Don't be a wuss if the engine gets hurt it's a 4h / 200$ fix

The 2l16v's are pretty old engine and they we're found in passat so there's a bunch of them available and they ain't worth much.

yes but if everyone starts too abuse vr6's, 16v's or even worse the G-engines because the G-laders cost abnormally so much.. I'm looking for a swap in my Polo 86c but it's difficult to find a 6n engine with low mileage

Jens T Good luck for your project btw. The guy in the video is a mechanic so in worst case he can rebuilt it. But as we speak the car is getting ready for the season and I'm pretty sure it will last a couple years
