Great video! I just purchased a Haze and this seems like a good warning for potential issues. Loved seeing the process of you diagnose the issue.

Great detective work! The latch on my OneBot S6L is too loose for my liking. Now I know how to tighten it. Thanks!

cool man, hope you're enjoying it, I was filming a follow up video on that bike, ran out of time to finish it. Trying to work on followup videos on as many of the ebikes as I can since I DO ride a ton, it would be an injustice to hide the long term pros and cons.

I had the exact same problem with my Engwe Pro and fitted a rubber pad as you did also to the back of the battery housing .. no problems since although I do apply sacrificial insulation tape around the joint where the bike folds as a precaution to stop moisture penetrating onto the battery / controller contact areas I also carry a spare roll of tape in the bike tool bag

Where to buy the foam pad you used to solve battery vibration problem? Great video … gives me more confidence of how to survive a failure. Wow, being able to return my return at Costco is great knowing it’s fixable is comforting. And because it’s foldable I can do an emergency Lyft or Uber to get home if family is unavailable. .

This is a great informative troubleshooting video. Had the same power problem. Tightened the folding latch like you did and power now comes on. Will test ride tomorrow. Thanks again for posting this video.

It corrected for a ride but bumps made it die again. I notice the battery was very loose and jiggling. I put a pad on top of battery. Now it’s a tight fit and secure. No problems now. Thanks for your advice. Let us know when you find a speed limiter hack for the Haze.

Hi thanks for this video !!… I had an identical problem with my Engwe Pro…I padded the battery with tape wrapped around the battery this stopped any movement in the battery housing.. but the problem persisted..problem turned out to be where the battery connects to the controller.. I removed the controller connector cover (2 screws) and fitted 2 X rubber washers between cover and the housing and screwed everything back together.ive not had a problem since on or off road. New sub (UK)

I have one of these from costco. From day 1 The fade off when turn the power on happens whenever I split the bike or use the physical power switch. You can reset by splitting the bike again. I would not get this bike again it is too intermittent and feels like a firmware issue.

connections are a common point of failure, pins can bend and cause issues, not the first time, while the design looks cool, this is what can happen.

Was hoping that wouldn’t be the case. The super 73 that I’m borrowing, owner has another, had a similar issue. New controller did not work, and considering how little it was used, leads me to believe it has a similar issue. Some additional steps i will try nest time is to remove the brake plugs to rule that out. It’s happened to my Lectric, but dual battery essentially means solid connectors alp the time

Did you find a solution? I got a bolt pro that does this or mainly dies when it gets to 2 lights I've been thinking of changing the battery since I'm guessing it could have bad cells

A cell in your battery has failed. Hard to repair. Had to buy a new battery.

@@vista806 That actually wasn't it. I spent the time to carefully open battery pack case, cut off plastic and sticky mess of foam. Took forever to clean messy packaging. All cells were perfectly in balance. I spent many hours with a DMM & oscilloscope checking out the whole board. I don't have the tooling (or experience) to replace components on the board easily... The charging side looked fine...but when toggling the battery switch...the board cut power down to like 5v. So I just bypassed the board for output...but kept the charging wires connected. Basically narrowed it down to the whole pack failing because of one small component on the board being bad. Been using the battery daily for 3 months, all cells still balanced. I've lost some safety features, but I keep a close eye on cell balance & temperature myself.

@@PowerScissor So you bypassed the large board that connects to all the battery cells?

  • @PowerScissor

@@vista806 Just for discharging, that's where the problem was. There was a single bad MOSfet if I remember, it's been a few months ago now. I left the charging...so it can contine to balance with the stock charger, and I don't have to tear the pack apart to keep everything balanced all the time.

@@PowerScissor Oh, I see. Mine is the battery. I have it on the bench and it has a bad cell. I must disassemble it and locate the bad cell. Huge job. Not worth the time and effort.
