Around the 7:40 mark, our host mentions that the twist throttle can be tricky for newbies. I haven’t been on this one but the Jetson Bolt Pro is comparable and I tell everyone to be sure to keep the bike OFF until you are well-seated. You don’t want it to take off without you.

For anybody considering it, don’t underestimate the value of portability. Based on my JBP experience, can put the bats down, take the seat out, and travel with this thing in your trunk. That helps you get more out of it AND you’ll be less concerned about theft than others who put their bigger, fancier models on racks on the backs of their cars. I’m not judging those people but theft is a HUGE concern - especially when traveling. The best way to protect the PeV is by taking it with you and/or storing it behind a locked door. I’m telling you. It’s maybe the best feature of these bikes, at these prices.

I agree with you but what about security chains and locks? There are bike/motorcycle chains that are pretty much resistant to anything except someone with a powerful angle grinder but that would make a lot of noise for 15 minutes just to steal your bike!

@@fredwerza3478 my understanding, as a non-thief, is that they allll have their vulnerabilities. I’ve heard about freezing the locking mechanism via the keyhole. The most hardcore chains are also cumbersome and heavy. The most resistant options are often not long enough to go from the secure portion of the bike to the pole. Bike racks are sometimes imperfect or the accessories, seats, etc are taken. None of this is to judge anyone’s security choices. It’s just that nothing beats taking it with you - security wise. That’s not always convenient so locks are handy. But portability is a niiiice anxiety-reducer.

@@westmcgee9320 yes I agree that locking up your bike inside your SUV is a good security measure but there are some really great locking chains out there that can't be easily broken with bolt-cutters

I'm 6'2" and 230 and I just got this bike --- it feels like a toy! I would warn you not to take it on any rough pavement where there might be large cracks or potholes because you will crash because of the small tire size. A large person feels very unstable on this thing, and it feels like it's made for kids age 14 and under. I rode the Jetson Bolt Pro and it has 14-inch tires and feels a lot more stable.

Question about pedal assist- wondering if this happens to you too. My pedal assist only kicks in at the initial bike ride when pedaling. When going at a faster speed, the pedal assist does not kick in anymore. I had to pedal faster to catch up to the throttle speed. Does this happen to you?

  • @HBV90

I believe this is normal. The Pedal assist on this bike only help you get that little push when you start pedaling..I've never manage to go fast enough on this thing with just using the pedal to see if it will continue to kick in, but I'm doesn't look like it does. Only when you start pedaling.
